Hi,

Does anybody know of a person or business that produces Chariots (for lack of a better description) for training huskies to pull in places where it doesn't snow.

I guess you could call it a cart, sled with wheels or maybe a old lawn mower converted into a husky pulling device but I'm keen to see what's available.

Thanks all! All I want for christmas is a sled to train my huskies.

It's open to interpretation so snap those pictures of your dogs tricking... treating...or both! Can't wait to see those photos!

All photos due by Sept 24th!

Reminder of the Rules:

SO YOU WANT TO BE A BREEDER? - Breeding the female

So you want to breed your female. You know what to expect if everything goes right. Your little girl will present you with tiny bundles of joy. She will lovingly nurse them and care for them until they are old enough to be weaned.

You and your family will find great joy in watching and playing with these little dolls, and then when the time is right they will all (or maybe you keep just one) ...

Well in actual fact more interested to hear what fellow husky owners think about letting their husky off the leash.

My boy is pretty well behaved (it's all relative) in that after he's had a good run about he'll return but I would say that he is far from perfect.

How to train "TOUCH": (When saying commands say them loud and with an upbeat attitude.)

I started with a clicker, if your dog doesn't understand the clicker just start by clicking the clicker in their ear and giving them a treat, this will identify a click with a treat.

Next, say your dogs name and "watch me" while pointing to your eyes, ...

Pawnee Peak:

Not wanting to let even one weekend slip by this summer, I knew the coordinating would be tricky for the 21st. The kink was we had a birthday dinner at a top notch eatery scheduled, and hiking takes a lot out of a person who barley woke up at 2:30am. Hoping for a timely trip that would net us a nap, we took off at 4:26am for the nearby Indian Peaks Wilderness ($9 cash in hand, mind you). The drive was stupid easy and went quickly. At 5:45am we were donning headlamps ...

Hi all!

I stumbled across this forum while researching the breed and so far it has been quite informative! I don't have an huskies yet, but plan on adding one to the family within the next year or two I know I can never really be prepared enough for the day I finally get my husky but any information you may have as experienced husky owners would be greatly appreciated

Also if any members know any reputable breeders in Western Canada I would love to hear about them

Cheers!

So i will start by saying this is the first Dummies book and first dog book i have ever bought. So my option is based off of that and not comparing it to others as i can't. I would give this book a 4 paws up. i enjoyed it and found it to be an easy and informative read. i finished it on a round trip home so about 8hrs. if your just thinking of getting a husky or you all ready own one or more then this book is for you. no matter how much experience or lack of you have im sure you will still find ...

I have reached my boiling point on lose dogs attacking my leased huskies. my neighborhood better be prepared for many calls to animal control as i will not tolerate any lose dogs running around supervised or not.

it was about 5:15pm on sat aug. 21 and we were walking Sierra and Jack for the night. this is our normal loop around the block, i have become very aware of our surrounding (walking huskies you need to be on your A game) and i notice as we were walking that a block ahead of us there ...

So, Jenn was supposed to tag along on this one. She had mentioned that Ken might want to do some fishing, and that had me digging through fishing forums cross referencing things with the 14ers. My hope was to have a camp site situated between a lake and the trailhead. This happened to turn out perfectly, except he was working and Jenn was bailing on us for flagstone or something. Oh well, the studying and preparations I made had my mind locked on the Missouri Gulch area for yet another weekend ...

Time for me to play a bit of catch up on these outdoors posts before I get sidetracked, again. On August 6th, it was just me, Matt and Lindsay headed out to the south side of the Grays/Torreys duo. When we hiked Torreys from that side, I noticed a multitude of dispersed campsites along the Peru Creek Road. The road is a bit rough with a couple of tricky washouts, but typical passenger cars should have no problem with a bit of care. Private property extends past the Chihuahua Gulch Jeep road so ...

Hi Everyone,

Don't yet have a Husky, but am doing all my homework and research. This site has been very helpful. Still debating whether to get one from the shelter or go with a breeder. My question to all you experienced Husky owners is regarding cats and Huskies. We have a 6 year old cat. I have passed on 2 different shelter Huskies as the shelter couldn't guarantee they wouldn't be aggressive with a cat (they actually wouldn't adopt them out to people with cats). I have also heard horror ...

Hello everyone! What a cute forum, I hope to be able to learn a lot and share my husky knowledge with others! My name is Jessica and my husky is Tank. Tank is a 20 month old male husky and pretty much the second "love of my life." His hobbies are going for bike rides, swimming, napping, and playing with friends! His dislikes are lettuce, scary movies, and an early bedtime. Can't wait to get to know some other husky owners!

Heh, there's not much to speak of on this outing. We camped at Ute Pass and tried hiking Ute Peak to no avail. There was a sign at the trailhead that stated a mere 5.5 miles to the Ute Peak Summit. Pfft. There's not much to say about this trip. We circled the sub-treeline mound trying to find any hint of a trail. We never found one. It was just trees followed by more fallen trees. We hiked, then turned around for camp and ate once we all gathered again. Mmmmm, fajitas were good. Stupid trail ...

This was yet another hike that was supposed to be a Holy Cross attempt. Watching weather every hour for weeks on end helps a little, but there's still no way of knowing what area is going to get the actual rain storm. A recent post online by a NOAA meteorologist shed some light on the % subject. He said that when you see "20% chance of rain", it means that 20% of the ground in that region should see measurable rainfall. I'm still not sure what "region" entails, ...
