ATTENTION ALL NOVICE POTENTIAL BREEDERS!!!!!

SO YOU WANT TO BE A BREEDER? - Breeding the female

So you want to breed your female. You know what to expect if everything goes right. Your little girl will present you with tiny bundles of joy. She will lovingly nurse them and care for them until they are old enough to be weaned.

You and your family will find great joy in watching and playing with these little dolls, and then when the time is right they will all (or maybe you keep just one) ...

Koda- By the time we started looking for a pet, I had wanted a dog for about two years already. However, John wanted a cats. He wanted a dog eventually, but he's younger than I am, so he still had the desire to have more independence. I am not really a cat person (although ...

it was about 5:15pm on sat aug. 21 and we were walking Sierra and Jack for the night. this is our normal loop around the block, i have become very aware of our surrounding (walking huskies you need to be on your A game) and i notice as we were walking that a block ahead of us there ...

What I'm worried about is that I know that Sibes will run and run when they are off lead, but I'm not sure if he will or not as he is only a cross. Should I expect prey drive/running and treat him as if he's a Sibe and never let him off lead or do you think he might be ok? We are going to start clicker training and ...

I've been mulling this over in my head for a week or two now. In all of the Huskies/Malamutes I encounter I really only see two major personality types. The first and most prevalent is the standard crazy, high prey drive and exuberant sled dog (Ridik, Jack, Kosmo, Coco). The other is a super friendly, mostly laid back, quiet and easy to handle dog (Sioux, Sierra). Those are pretty broad generalizations, I'm not finding the right words to express this. Sioux definitely has some sort of prey drive, ...

The guy that gave us puppy when i was 8 years old , said that he probably wasnt gonna live more than 8 years because of his dane heritage, and he outlived all our other dogs lol. Anyway I want to get exacly same mix , thats the best ive had and i wanna get another one. Any idea if there are certain breeders that breed them? Thank you for your help.

So Heather and I got word the other day that a lady was getting rid a Husky puppy. So Heather emailed her to find out he was 4 months old and if we didnt take him he was going to the pound asap. Once we heard that we pretty much dropped everything to go get this boy. She had no papers on him so im unsure if he is full husky im leaning towards malamute or a mix combo given his paws are absolutely massive.

Here are pics of MILO

A little about mine..

Kobey is certainly the only dog on my street that often sounds like he is being tortured. If I put my ipod on or start putting my shoes on, Kobey knows that I am leaving. Even though he usually comes with me, he gets very upset. It's hard to describe how loud he is and what he sounds like but it seems like he's yelling at me.
I remember running into this dog (and her guy) on Bierstadt I believe last year. He had mentioned it a bit around that site as a sarcastic but realistic comment. During the spring gathering in the Mosquito Range, he failed to make it work due to snow conditions. It was just enough to get him really into making it happen. Looks like this last weekend had perfect conditions...

Cracked me up. I can't imagine how much work that was.

Thought I'd let everybody know that our Isis just pooped for the first time since her stomach/intestinal surgery!! We are delighted! Looked fairly normal, from what we could see (it's dark outside!), Tommy took a flashlight out back and checked it. I will spare you the pictures, tho. That is, unless you want to see......
