Atlanta Husky Needs Help!

Hi all,
I was pointed to this group from a friend of mine that is a proud companion of a husky! I sure hope someone can help.

I came home this evening to a poor husky that had set up shop in my carport. It appears to be a girl and she's in bad shape. She's emaciated, has a slight limp, and has virtually no startle reflex - she was shivering in the middle of our carport and wouldn't even move when we approached her. My husband and I have fed and watered her and given her a warm place to sleep tonight - but we need to quickly find her help and a home! She's rather small - under 50 lbs, and small in stature as well. Has distinctive blue/brown eyes and husky coloring. This pup is very affectionate and appears to have been abandoned some time ago. I have no indication of age.

We already have two rescue dogs, three cats and a toddler, so I'm afraid we're full up. I'm happy to make any attempt to find her a home, but I'm afraid we can't take care of her for an extended period of time. I plan on trying to take her to the Atlanta Humane Society on Monday.

We're just near the Atlanta Airport if anyone out there can help. Thank you!!!!!

Hi all,

Myra is a friend of mine and I pointed her this way. I thought maybe someone could assist in either finding a home for this sweet husky or either direct her to a rescue that can help.

Myra, are you able to post some pics of your visitor? We're bigger suckers when we can see their faces.

Here's a pic of our girl. I seriously doubt she has any microchips - but we'll try to check things out on Monday.

OMG! I wish I could have taken her! She's beautiful.

Here are some local Sibe rescues. PLEASE drop her at a sibe rescue and not a humane society Sad

She'll have a much better chance at survival and finding a good home this way.

i was going to offer the same advice as Koda as to please take her to a Husky rescue and not a shelter. Thank you for taking her in and trying to find her a better life!

Thank you for everyone's responses! We may have actually found her a home. A girlfriend is coming over to check her out tonight. Her parents have a farm and rescue horses. They sound like they're happy to add another dog to the mix.

she is beautiful! we are definately interested in a rescue the next go round! just not ready for one right this moment money wise or else we would take her off your hands since atlanta isnt but a few states from us! Good luck and let us know if things do or dont work out

Our Husky girl found a new home today! She just left town in a Mercedes and is headed for the sweet life on a farm just outside Atlanta! It took all I had not to cry when they pulled out. Three cheers for the power of the internet. Razz
