So in the past 2-3 days I've noticed Dakota has changed the way she eats.

Originally she would freak out when she saw me fill her bowl, and would eat soo fast, she would run to the bowl, but she was also food aggressive, if you went near her bowl when eating she would growl and sometimes bite. We fixed that right away, she now knows she has to wait ("stay") to eat until she gets the okay from us, we fixed the aggression through hand feeding her, and randomly dropping a treat in her bowl so she would like it when a hand came near her bowl when eating and we've had no problems since doing all that Smile yay!!!

But now she doesn't seem soo excited to eat at all, I will fill her bowl and she doesnt seem interested, she eats a little at a time and will finish a meal over approx 30 min going to the bowl eating, then playing with a toy, then going back to eat and repeats that until she is done. (last night she didn't even finish her last meal, she ate about 2/3rd's of it). I'm glad she isn't guarding or being aggressive with her bowl or food, but Im curious if this is normal for a 12 week old puppy???

I heard huskies are known for self regulating their food, but does it start this young???
She seems to be acting normal, and still playing, normal bathroom habits. No vomiting or tummy issues that I can see.

Huskies are known for self regulating but some or many are willing to over indulge if given the opportunity, Arya was very much like Dakota until about 5 months of each pining every time she heard her food bag being lifted, she was of course trained to sit and wait but often made a fuss for having to do so.

she then eased back a bit but still clearing her food fairly quickly, then at 7 months started to leave a few bits of kibble behind and eat them maybe a half hour later, and then a few weeks back she went off her food taking until after lunch time to finish her morning feed.

she is now finishing all her feeds in a reasonable length of time and no longer gulping as she was as a young pup.

I think change of food, activity levels come into play also as pup she would of been battling against her litter mates and likely no longer feels threatened another dog will eat her food.

Hey I'm dealing with a similar problem, here's my situation :
My pup is 11 weeks old and up until yesterday he would gobble down his food in like 10 minutes now for some reason I noticed he has diarrhea, he has worms and is being treated, but will not really seem interested in his food, he will eat about 1/3 and leave it alone I don't know wether I should be concerned or I just dont know apart from the diarrhea nothing else seems wrong, he still runs around outside when I take him out and is full of energy! Maybe Its my fault for snapping at him two days ago because he bit me while eating, I am dealing with his food aggression, but yea any ideas?

i'm dealing with this now.

It all started when I have my overnight work one week ago. The pet sitter fed him at about 8PM, but he would not eat. He used to this lady. I came home almost midnight and i made him eat and he was fine. I thought that was it. But the week that followed up til now, he would not eat his breakfast. We usually have breakfast between 8-9AM after our morning walk. He prefers to sleep off. And would eat his food late in the afternoon.

Good thing his dinner habit is still ok.

Some say it must be that dogs don't want to eat if it's too hot. Should I be concerned? Everything else looks normal with him.
