Do huskies have a distinctly different coat for summer and winter? Kiba had a very full coat with a ruff around the neck area and the fur around her face made it look wide. After her first coat blow she has short fairly silky fur and she all around has a less puffy look. Especially in her face. You can see in my profile photo how she used to look last winter. Smile

Sophie and Kay have pretty different summer and winter coats, Maya's coat only gets darker.

Link changed drastically. I've noticed the same things, especially the loss of his neck fur and tail.

Yes! that's exactly what i mean (in the photos). Her face and neck have dramatically less fur and her tail looks kind of puny and sad lol. She's not a super fluffy girl anyhow but at least her fur seemed much thicker before. Thank you for posting pictures. i took one recently with her shorter coat but i cant find it hence, i cannot upload it. but yeah..skinnier looking/less fluff. super noticeable around the face where it used to appear wider.

I know, I miss those fluffy cheeks too! Here's a couple better ones of Link's face.. he just lost all that fur late-June so I have no idea when he will get it back.

Yup, fluffy cheeks and then not fluffy. I love fluffy Kay, can't wait till she gets fluffy again.

yep. kibas fur length looks exactly like links right now. i also keep wondering when shell start fluffing up again. i like them fluffier too : ) although i really havent seen a sibierian that wasnt cute regardless of their coat length. since this is my first full year having her its fascinating watching the changes huskys go through. my golden never really changed much except to gain a face mask when aging.

Abby, every time I see that picture of Kay after she lost her fur, I just chuckle. She looks crazy cute!Razz

Megan, Link looks so different from the pictures before and after.

The other day I was looking at Karma and she lost a lot of winter fur, and looks so skinny, But after seeing your guy's pictures I feel better knowing it's not her weight.
