I'd love that! Smile I have noticed the last couple meets have been around an hour drive or so. It just depends on what we have going on that day, if nothing then I don't mind the drive. Klaus however isn't exactly best friends with the car yet.

Nice run! Your daughter and Okami both look so happy. I can't wait to share this sport with my own daughter when she's older (well, she's not even born yet, but she will be in a matter of days or weeks!).

BTW, I have the same Spirit Hood, and I love it. So warm and comfy!

Thank you! We are loving it, and hopefully soon will get better at it.
Haley, I saw you liked one of them hehe, we could be fb friends if you'd like, might be able to plan a get together easier that way lulz.

Ashleigh, I hope we get as much running in before the ice on that pond melts! Might have to make a circuit in the yard if the snow holds out longer than the ice.

Jane, thank you! It is everything I'd hoped it would be. I need more dogs now.

Liz, thanks! Commenting from your post in the hotm chat, I really liked the one I chose too, although it isn't the one my husband said I should do. It was really a hard decision.
I love my spirithood... I need more. Did you know they are coming out with My Little Pony ones? (Omgomgomg)

Well Lucy I do see a problem, Okami is sitting politely while you hook up when she should be talking excitedly and jumping and pulling to get moving! You'll have to work on that.
The little sled looks very and your daughter appears to be having the time of her life! I wish I could hear her cute little voice 'cuz, as I remember from last years SS, she can talk your ear off! So glad you found what you wanted and had some snow to enjoy it with, (we had one weekend suitable for X-country skiing only it was below zero and high wind).

Well, the x back makes me nervous. But I am trying to get over it. Huskies can slip easily out of an xback if they back up out of it. The more I work with her, she won't ever think of backing out of it.

You can get a belly band for the harness that helps deter backing out. I opted for that on Layla's X-back just in case, and it's worked really well.

Where did you get it from? There was no option for the xback we got from Nooksack like that ... I do really like the one we got though, it has padding and reflective strips! I thought it was snazzy haha.
I thought about getting one from Alpine, but I only wanted to order from Alpine if I got something important sled related... (wanted to escape another shipping fee haha) So I only ordered from Nook and Black Ice. Nook was out of booties, so I am waiting for them to get a shipment in to send me my 2 sets.

Renee- I hope you guys get some snow too! The weather has been odd this year for everyone... It was seriously -16 here the other morning (without windchill added, if added it was like -30! Shocked )

Hughie- She is such a polite dog ~~most of the time~~ I have taught her to sit when I am standing and not walking (probably from our walks) so it was her first thought while I was doing that to just sit... not sure if you can tell from the photo, but she was hooked up to my alpine hands free musher belt so I could do all the hooking... lol. Otherwise she probably would have taken off. She just has really good leash manners.

Amy- Thank you! It is a blast! Still thinking of maybe trying out sledding too?

Layla's X-back is from Alpine. Nooksack is also a really good brand. I think they have better customer service than Alpine, to be honest, but I liked the options available for the Alpine harnesses.

Derp, I didn't see you asked about the sled.
I do like it, Okami seems to pull it fine. The turning is difficult with it, I have to kick off the ground to make it turn otherwise I go into the snow banks and thus slowing her down and then she squirrels (loses interest)
I am not sure if I like it being wood... it makes a lot of rickety sounds, I may invest in a metal one next year IDK lol... but it is great to get started and learn with.

Lol np, and thanks for the feed back, definitely interested in investing one for myself. I can imagine it takes practice haha. I can understand the wood being noisy, hmm only bad thing I can imagine with metal is rust? Love seeing the sled pics should do a video! Hahaha sunny sib up XD Okami is such a sweet looking girl
