this weekend makes 3 weeks that Kobi has slept out of his cage with no accidents and no destruction lol. As you can tell by my signature photo he loves sleeping at the door. We invite him to sleep on the bed but goes back to sleep at the door lol. The only time he really gets on the bed is when hes taking a nap next to cat during the day, or hes jumping on my face to wake me up to take him out to go potty in the morning lol I'm so proud of him though, we have had him about 2 months and he is learning so much and doing so good Very Happy

So, I haven't been on in awhile. Been trying out some of the things suggested by a few members to counter act his extreme hyperness when he sees me open the treat bag. So far hes been doing better, I have been doing treats only at the completion of a series of commands or tricks, and a treat when we get home and he hasn't gotten into anything. On that note when we leave for an hour or two, we do set him up for success. We remove or secure things we don't want him to get into or destroy. The longest we have been away with him out is 3.5 hours. We have been taking him on walks regularly, I even put his harness on and hooked him up to my 3 year old nieces wagon and let him pull her for about 20 minutes over the weekends. Hes gotten a little bigger, and is becoming more vocal lol.

Over Easter weekend on Saturday, we were out for a walk with Kobi hooked up to the wagon pulling my niece, and this black dog, probably about a year old seen Kobi and us, started barking and growling and charged us. I stopped and pulled Kobi back, but the black dog continued so I had to pick Kobi up. It all happened pretty quick, my mom told me that Kobi started growling and showing teeth when he seen the other dog charging and continued to do so after i picked him up. Id rather be bitten then my dog, I was more interested in keeping the other dog away from Kobi to realize that Kobi was being as defensive as he was. Then out of the blue this kid comes running up and said its probably a stray, and continued to run passed us calling the dogs name! I was infuriated so when I got home I called the police and filed a report for the dog being off leash ( Kalamazoo is getting really strict about the leash laws around here). I gave them a description of the dog and the kid and they went on their way driving around the area looking. Other than that everything with Kobi has been really good. lol

These were of our last big storm here in West Michigan

Update on our furmily... lol. We have moved and settled in quite good, even Kobi. We have been here going on 6 months, with only a few issues. Shortly after moving in he decided to pee on my bed, couch and chair with no issues like this since. The only issue that we are battling is one that is none of Kobi's fault, we just didn't realize that the fleas in this area are so bad. We have taken the necessary steps and precautions and it seems we are winning lol. Along with this move came my Birthday in August, and a knew lifestyle change. I took the walking and biking with Kobi to the next level and made it about making healthier choices in my own life. I am happy to report that since my birthday, with Kobi's help of course, I have been able to lose a lot of weight. I have been eating healthier and working out more. At the time of my Birthday I weighed in at 224, today I am weighing in at 183! Kobi has been doing ok socializing with other dogs, except one other dog. We have a neighbor about 6 houses down that owns a husky/mal mix, they just don't like each other, well Kobi doesn't like him. When ever we have tried to get the two together to play, Kobi always tries to attack him. Needless to say we decided to call it quits after a couple of months. So that's just about everything, Glad to be back on the forum, Ill upload a few pics and or vids soon.

So we finished Kobi's room, yes you heard it right he has his own room with his own bed. All Mike's idea. lol. It started off as a bare room as somewhat of a indoor kennel, but Mike obviously had to do things his way. lol.
I had Mike change were the bed was, I didn't like that it was at the window. I also told him not to be surprised if he destroyed the room.
