2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. PostSubject: Stupid dew claws   Sat Jan 04, 2014 9:43 pm

So Zoe dew claws keep getting me as she goes apeshi* crazy when I get home like I was never coming back and this is the last time she is going to see me.

I also wanted to get her nails cut more than just the once every 3 months we go to the groomers and asking my vet to do it. So I have a couple questions that I couldn't seem to find answers to in my searches.

Is it hard/can you  cut the nail with a dremel and how hard is it to get them used to it aka not hate it and go crazy?
        * What is a good dremel for dog nails to buy?

Is it easier to clip the nails and then just dremel them smooth?

I think I would rather use a dremel as the groomers use it and I love how smooth they get her nails. We don't walk on pavement so we don't get that free cliipping.

Thanks guys!!

Any Dremel will work. I use a cordless just for the convenience of using it where ever without having to have an outlet handy. As long as you have a groomer that uses a Dremel I would ask for some direction on honing down the nails from them. It's not hard but most things are easier to learn if you are watching it being done. I switched from clippers years ago and with few exceptions would never go back to them.
