I was looking around trying to find the rules for HOTM again since I was confused about what was decided regarding when a former HOTM winner could participate again. Is there a thread with all the HOTM rules contained for reference? If so, can it be stickied in this forum so we can find it easily?

I'm just curious if I can participate again since I've sat out the last two months.

I think you have to sit out 6 months to be a winner again... read that somewhere But I agree we need a "rules" sticky thread.

Reminder of the Rules:
1. One photo submission PER DOG.
2. The same member may not win back-to-back months.
3. If your photo contains more than one of your dogs, that is the number of months you are out of competition (so, if your photo contains two of your dogs, you must sit out for two months and so on).
4. Show good sportsmanship and don't vote for your own pup (except in tie breaker votes)!
5. HAVE FUN! This is about friendly competition and seeing themed pictures of our dogs every month. Remember, it's just a forum


**Rule #3 used to be the 6 month rule per dog... but last month there was discussion regarding the complexity of keeping track and wanting to submit photos with more than one dog. This was the compromise.

I will post these rules in a sticky now Sorry for the delay, but we needed to test out the rules a bit first. From now on, if there are requests to change the rules, they must be submitted in the suggestions thread and voted on

Another question for you for future reference. You know I'm here for the fun of it and not joining in the competition to win. If someone was to win one month, could they still submit a photo the following month but just don't include the previous month's winner in the voting?

For example, if Dakota won January HOTM could he have a photo shared in February's HOTM but just don't include him in the February HOTM voting? That way everyone can still participate but you wouldn't have to worry about having the same winner back to back since they wouldn't be included in the vote. Just an idea.

I'm okay with that I see no issues with submitting photos for fun!
