Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. | I have not skijored, XC skied or downhill skied this year. Due to the RRR (Ridiculously Resilient Ridge) of high pressure over the west coast, we have had little snow. Two weeks ago, Mt. Hood had a big dump of two feet, immediately followed by freezing rain. And it hasn't warmed up enough during the day to create corn snow. The long range forecast has the ridge in place through the end of the month. Doing a snow dance here for big storms in Feb. and March. Otherwise fire season will be catastrophic. Scary picture of the base area at Mt. Shasta in NorCal. |

Well I will be dancing along with you! I know exactly what you mean. No snow for us here in the Sierra's either! Lake Tahoe, is where we would normally go sledding, but there's nothing up here but clear skies. It's actually really depressing. Camping season will suck if there's no water in our lakes and rivers.

I guess I feel lucky, good and bad snow, but we have snow. The other problem is getting a day with calm enough winds a person can be outside more than two minutes. Mt. Shasta was my old "Day off" hangout. Turn around was northern California and either Wednesday or Thursday would be kick back and have few night. Last time I was out there was the big fire in 86? 87?

I hope we get some more snow this next month. What little the mountains do get melts away quickly. All the reservoirs are going to be extremely low if we don't get some white stuff sticking around in the mountains. We were looking forward to snowshoeing and possibly skijoring with Harry but I guess it'll have to wait till next year.

We're supposed to get some Rain here in the next few days!! I really hope so, I mean anything helps. Yeah, no sledding for us this year unless mother nature decides to be nice to us and give us some snow.

I found some snow, for hiking up Mt. Loop highway. Heather Lake/Lake 22. But over all its been very rough this year. Was hoping for a big snowpack, so I could pick up extra rafting trips during Late summer. As of now, the season will end in May. We need to get Arya/Link/Korra together soon.
