All, I apologize if this is in the wrong section of the forum, but dog parks seem outdoors-y, so it was worth a shot. Smile

We are considering taking Achilles to a dog park now that he's UTD on all his shots (plus rabies). Given that, do any of you have tips for my husband and I that will make the experience a positive one?

Things I know we need to do given common sense:
1. Watch our dog to ensure he's behaved.
2. Clean up after our dog (I'd be ashamed if I didn't!)

Also, if two dogs get into a fight, what's the best way to split them up? I feel like I'd get all mama bear on the dogs, and I feel like I should at least think about an approach before I am put into that situation.

Finally, our pup isn't fixed since he isn't even five months old yet. Will that be a problem at certain parks?

Thank you in advance!

Well first tip would be. When you get into the park. Dont keep him on a leash to test it out. I dont know if this is correct advice or not. But in my experiences people do this a lot their first time there and it causes there dog and other dogs i feel to be more anxious for some reason.

Also dont be nervous that your boy is being to rough, huskies play rough. You will learn the line between playing and getting mad. When my pup was that age it we had a training place that did puppy play dates. It was really nice. You would stay and watch, and there were 2 trainers that would supervise it, and teach you whats play and whats not.
