1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

PostSubject: dog in mourning???    dog in mourning??? EmptySat May 31, 2014 9:45 pm

So about two weeks ago my beloved border collie died and mishka kind of stopped eating a lot the only way I could get her to eat was to mix in a dab of peanut butter but i also live in ky so its pretty humid at this time of year so could the heat make her not want to eat much becausethis is still going on and one more thing ever since Bella died she's became aggressive towards my other border ( not extremely) but she'll pick fights with her this also only accures in the back yard (where Bella died) so don't know if she's
upset or what and also she's gotten out twice two days in a row and is bolting for the door and spending her time inside inside her crate

When Butkis died Beka went into a funk. Beka had Butkis with her except for the first 7 weeks of her life. I am not sure how else to explain it than funk. She just seemed off a little more tired and lazy. She had less patience for Baylin who had only been around 1.5 yrs. Both girls kept looking from him out in the yard and if we said his name they would try and hunt from him the first couple days. Baylin stopped her different behavior within the first several days. But Beka it took her at least a week to get to what seemed normal and she still would be confused if his name was mentioned during that first month. So in part the eating change and the aggression is probably everything you mentioned, mourning, humidity which makes us grumpy. We did extra love session for both of our dogs after wards. Sorry for you loss.
