PostSubject: New Addition, "Micante'"   Wed Jun 18, 2014 12:53 am

This is our newest addition (well we have had her for months now, But I have not updated anything on this site since November!), a huskamute named Icamani Micante'. Her name is pronounce Ee-CHOM-any Me-SHON-tay, And it means 'My Heart walks beside me.' Smile She was born Christmas Day, We got her on March 1st. She is what we have determined to be (with help from a few who know a lot about husky color genetic, But she has not been tested.) a true Sable with minimal black shading. EE-White would be likely if she did not have black hair (which she does have, but it is so minimal now that you don't see it in photos.) She does NOT have any lab in her.

The day she was born-

(she is the bottom one)

Then a few from a week-8 weeks (I don't remember the age of each of these photos, as I did not take them.)

There are a lot of photos once we brought her home, so going to post those in the comments below so there are not *as* many photos per a post. Wink

Me and Loki going to pick her up, He was less then amused by the 6 hour drive, He wanted out in the snow!

The first picture sent to us by a friend bringing her half way before handing her off from us. (Was a long day for Micante', She went from Texas to Wyoming.)

My first picture of her. Very Happy

Loki may have been a *tad* excited when we found out he got a sister. In fact, He was so excited she was terrified of him for the first week, LOL.

You can tell she is thinking "Great. -_-" And he is thinking "Great! ^_^"

Once we got home late that night, She got a little coat as she went from 80f in Texas to -20f in Wyoming! She had never seen snow before... She wanted OUT of it! Lol!

She slept pretty good that night. The only peaceful night before the 'Puppy doesn't want to go to bed yet, So puppy will cry and whine. All. Night. Longg.' part.

Belly rubs were still demanded, though.

Pretty soon the 'I am a huskamute, and I love snow' switch flipped on. Razz

Coat came off after a week, and Loki was starting to seem less scary. (But, was definitely still scary.)

9-10 weeks old and her mission is to kill less sticks, and start to investigate Loki. (Once he gave up his giant teddy bear to her.)

Killing sticks is definitely more important, though!

And of course to Sunny Sibe Up

Not very happy about being in the outdoor kennel for the first time.

Aww, the first time her ears stood up. ♥️

That didn't last very long. :')

She now effectively knows how to maul her big brother.  Laughing

It took her no time at all to figure out how to modify the dens (We have some dens in the outdoor kennel for them.)

She has a big harness to fill. Wink

She watches Loki intently to learn the snow dog ways.

-- She completely knows how cute she is.

Well.... One ear stood back up? LOL

At this point I stopped taking photos every day, so there is not a lot from the last picture to recent ones.

Getting a little older Smile

A week or so ago-

Yesterday (5 months and 3 weeks old)- Took them walking up on the mountain. Smile Did she eat a buffalo or something?!?! She is a little over 45ibs now, and 23 inches at the shoulder (weighed and measured a few weeks ago).

Wow, she's big for almost 6 months! Layla will turn 10 months this week and is still on the smaller side and weighs somewhere around 35 pounds.

I love the last pic -- so beautiful!
