PostSubject: Re: Weigh in...   Weigh in... - Page 7 EmptyTue Feb 24, 2015 4:01 pm

12 weeks = 12.6 pounds
16 weeks = 17.8 pounds
20 weeks = 19.4 pounds
24 weeks = 23.8 pounds
30 weeks = 27.2 pounds
33 weeks = 29 pounds
46 weeks = 32 pounds
49 weeks = 35.8 pounds
1 year, 5 weeks = 34 pounds
1 year, 2 months = 36.2 pounds
1.5 years = 36 pounds

Had Layla's nails trimmed at the vet today and had her weighed just for fun. Looks like she's been around 36 pounds for a few months now that she's back to her regular appetite. That could be her ideal weight, or she may fill out a little bit more in the next six months. Curious, because both her parents are on the larger end of the breed standard (mom is 45 pounds; dad is 50). I like her petite size, though, and she's definitely been filling out since she turned a year old!

I brought Aerys to the vet at 5-6 months (he's 8 1/2 now) and he weighed 15kg

Its so hard to judge his growth for a number of reasons including my Puppy Nyx who is constantly growing and him shedding his winter coat(I got him at 5 month in Jan so I'd never seen him without one)

He seemed much more substantial when he had the winter coat.

Oakley is so skinny but he eats around 3-1/2 to 4 cups a day I'm wondering when did everyone's pups 'fill out'?

Yukon still hasn't filled out yet and he's 20 months old. So I would imagine it might be different for every dog, but probably not for awhile. Razz

Yeah he turns 2 in September, but only weighs 35 lbs. He hasn't gained any weight in almost a year; but the vet isn't worried at all so it's normal for him to be scraggly I suppose. Razz

Oh okay that makes sense Oaks is 45 lbs but super skinny and tall I know it did take Nala about a year or two to completely be fluffy and what not but I wonder if he will just be slick and skinny

PostSubject: Re: Weigh in...   Weigh in... - Page 7 EmptyTue May 19, 2015 9:20 pm

So, Ami was weighed today. A whopping 72.4 pounds (ish, he wouldn't stand still bounce ) He is now 2 yrs 8 mos, give or take 2 mos. Last year at just under 2 years old, he was 63 pounds. When we got him at 12-13 mos old, he was 59 pounds. Height is 24.5 -25 inches. Ish. (he doesn't stand still lol! )

Side view, he has a very definite tuck-up. From the top, with all his fur, there may be a waist in there but I can't see it. Ditto for seeing any ribs, backbone or hipbones. But, I can feel ribs lower on his sides quite distinctly, backbone is easily felt, hips, slightly padded but definitely can still feel the bones. The issue is, his ribs near his withers and over his back, very indistinct and the flesh there is definitely...fleshy. I can straddle him, put my hands on his upper sides and there is a lot of rolliness the the flesh there.

I know he's not supposed to be as lean as year old Archer, but, given the weight gain in 9 months, I'm wondering if I need to curtail his intake - any thoughts?

Amy, I think just coming out of winter our dogs will weigh a little bit more because they are not as active and I think nature packs some weight on in colder weather. I have no facts to back this up though. But I think once spring and summer hit, Ami will drop a few pounds on his own...and for sure on the Mt Washington hike Wink

I need to have my dogs weighed, how much should I deduct for fluff? LOL

Mishka ( pig ) 1 1/2 years old, weighs 43 lbs! Vet said she looked great though

Kohdi (bounce ) 2 1/2 years old, was squiggly on the scale and hovered between 58 and 61 and vet said he too looked great

Cora is 34 pounds at 20 weeks! She is also 20 inches tall now that may be a mistake on my measuring abilities, but I think it's right since she was 16 inches at 14 weeks!
