2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Head cold? Empty
PostSubject: Head cold?   Head cold? EmptyMon Jul 14, 2014 5:34 pm

I noticed over the weekend that Kenzi has a lot of mucus in her left nostril. It is a dark brownish color. Her nose isn't excessively wet and isn't hot, but the mucus is fairly thick and crusts on the edge. I spotted it saturday but then sunday it was gone. Today it is back and she is blowing out her nose quite often and sneezing though neither seem to clear it out much for her. Her energy levels are the same, she is eating fine, and other than the sneezing/blow outs, she isn't breathing strangely (ie, weazing, snoring at night). she has been very restless at night the last couple nights though, at first I thought it was just the full moon. (Full moon always makes me restless, yes-I might be a Werewolf) then the mucus came along and now I'm thinking she might have a head cold or sinus infection. Is there anything I could do to help ease it for her until I can get her to vet, or better yet, something I could give her to help clear this up at home without having to go to the vet? Or if anyone thinks it might be something else other than what I suspect, I would love to know what and why.

Hey Jenn,

I hope Kenzi is feeling better tonight. I wish I had some easy answers, I don't. It's so hot out, I would have suggested some steam from a shower, to open up the nasal passages. Miya's been sneezing a lot last couple of days, figured it's been so dry dust got picked up and irritated her nose. Keep us posted.
