I wish I had advice for you, but I don't have any experience with any sleds! Please let us know what you find, but hopefully someone else might be able to help!

What an interesting thing I knew nothing about until five minutes ago. My search turned up the listing you're probably looking at. There was a brief discussion on Sled Dog Central forum section about kicksleds. That's probably the best site to sift through retailers...
http://www.sleddogcentral.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6157

Then a video showing a guy with one dog and a kicksled in the back, and a Denver Post article about Silverton residents and their kicksled commuting...
http://motorsports.broadbandsports.com/node/11765

http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_7892205?source=bb

Looks like fun if the price is right. I can't imagine ponying up $500 like that guy said he did.

EDIT: Even searching the shopping tab I can't find "grizzly" and "kicksled" together. Maybe it's a new design that even Google (Yahoo, and Bing too) hasn't heard of yet. But those folk in Silverton seem reasonable on pricing...

. Well action pics will happen at a later date but I picked it up yesterday from our good buddy Craig S List. Drove 330 miles round trip came home with the sled, 3 harnesses gangline and other odd leftover stuff they had, at a very good price.

Took the dogs out this morning one at a time so I could possibly work with them better that way. Started with Biko, he hated that strange contraption that followed him with every step he took. He would take several steps look back and be just short of a panic attack each time he saw it. Finally got him to walk and trot with me NEXT to him. Took him home and brought out Adobo, she didn't seem to mind the sled at all but she wasn't about to try giving me a free ride either. So here was Mr. Yukon Jack thinking this sledding stuff consist of harnessing up a pooch and off we go for Whitehorse and beyond. NOT yet any how

Then this afternoon I took them out together this time jury rigged a "Y" on the gangline and by golly I actually had my first ride for a couple hundred yards but then had to stop them as we were approaching a road. Hopped back on and continue again for a short distance when someone's beagle started talking trash to Biko, so he tried heading left while Adobo was trying to maintain a straight course. By that time were maybe 1 1/2 miles from home and they seemed to have run out of gas. Turned around and head home, trying on occasion to get them to run again. Nope they insist they are to tired we continue walking. They trot a little bit ahead of me I trot to keep up with them no problem, what a great way to spend a 23 degree day in Akron, NY. Oh yeah did I mention that I didn't have what I call an anti escape line hooked to the handle bar? I had it rolled up in my coat pocket because what the hell 2 dogs wouldn't try making a break on me at the same time. Damn, I swear Biko and Adobo both looked back at me at the same time saw they were about 15 feet ahead of me. Yeppers now the adventure begins. They bolt I chase but for every step I take they take eight. Bye bye see you later. This is all taking place on an old railroad bed so its pretty much straight as an arrow, they run I walk and trot until I say hey I'm 58 yrs old haven't run a 5K since 2007 if I keep this up I'll pop my heart outta my chest. So I walk in hopes that they'll distract themselves and get tangled in the briars that interested them so much earlier when I tried running them. Nope the tag team runners are in sync and no lard ass to slow them down. They safely make it across the only road they had (thank you God) so now its about 2 miles to the indian reservation and if I recall correctly the no longer there train bridge. So 2 big demerits up against me and not a thing I can do to stop them. First the reservation, I'm a paleface rule #1 don't go on the rez unless you are in a car buying gas or cigarettes. I have about $600 in my wallets if caught there with luck they'll relieve me of my dollar load worst case they take the cash and dangle me from the no longer train bridge. Hallelujah!! The last 100 yards before the bridge the path is no longer open and full of over growth the kidz kept running straight into the over growth and snag the sled on a fallen tree limb and proceed to tangle their lines on the briars. When I see them they act like "boy are we glad to see you," yeah I bet you are. I untangle their mess and start heading back home as I would like to be home before dark and the coyotes are stirring already. I don't hear them but Biko is staying as close to me as possible and Adobo seems to be yip yapping in coyote tongue. I'm beat we get to the roadway and call Beth to come get us. We get home I have my 2nd beer of the day which is the 1st time for more then one since the 4th of July weekend when we had family here.

. Well after yesterdays episode I didn't know what to expect today. But hey a little chaos in life is usually good for a laugh after the fact. So I hook Biko & Adobo up head over to corn field next to the railroad bed cuz the R/R bed is all rocky today from the snowmobiles passing thru. Hop on a sled trail that is out there and by golly they rode me quite a distance and even turned when they came to the tractor lane which had a slight down hill grade after about 1/3 mile we come to open bean field loaded with wild turkeys which promptly start running. Adobo sees them first then Biko so off thru the open field we go they did good until the snow got to deep for them in drifted areas. We take a slight break hike back to the main trail and I get them going again stop get turned around and head home as they're losing speed fast and knew they would be out of gas soon. So all in all I'd say I had well over a one mile ride not bad considering the way things started yesterday I was hoping by spring they might work a trail for me.

Oh yeah almost forgot my lower abdominal and upper leg area feels like I a thousand sit ups yesterday from kicking it up on the sled. Thank goodness for Tylenol.

That was some start! Glad nothing to bad happened. I to was picturing this all in my head as I was reading it, you need to get one of those cameras that mount to the sled to take pics!
