Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| I'm older than Methuselah, so I've been around dogs almost all my life from cockers as a kid, to barn dogs, to German Shepherds and finally I've got myself a couple of Huskys. Sasha, who I'll write more about later is my Sibe, a rescue literally off the streets of San Antonio, TX. After two years we've begun to reach an agreement about who runs things here - - - she's a Sibe, we already know the answer to that, right?? Avalanche, my idiot boy, is an Alaskan rescued from the shelter in Alpine, TX. Not much to say about him. He's everyone dream of a dog (except for recall and retrieving!) he like to play (rough!!) but when it's over a simple "Enough!" will put him laying at my feet. I enjoy having verbal fun (okay, so it's not verbal - what is it?) on the web, have a very dry sense of humour so tend to stick << tease >> into conversations where people might not be aware that they're being put on. But also have a very serious side when it comes to caring for my dogs and friends on the web. I tend to call a spade a spade - as I see it, and normally note that something is my opinion, imho, but not always. Hope to see more of y'all around //al |

| Ah, now give this old man a chance to figure out how this forum works and I'll post a couple. I'm not so photo happy as many are so pictures tend to be few and far between. Thanks for the kind words. |

| Any time my fellow Texan! Posting of pics is a little tricky, there's a sticky somewhere that will walk you through it. I'm pretty computer savvy and still had problems, hahahaha. We don't have a ton of pics either, but I figured it out and put them up. My husband tends to put pics all over the computer and I inadvertently find them, lol. Are you located near the N.M. border? If you don't mind me asking. Moved here from Tampa, Fl. back in 2011, so still getting used to this huge state. |

| No, Renee not too close to that border. From El Paso go about 300 miles SE I'm about 40 miles from the OLD Mexico border. Are you in west Texas or West, Texas? _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Hahaha, somehow I knew that would end up being confusing, I'm near Abilene, so west Texas, not West, Texas where most of the town blew up. Now I know where Terlingua, is, I've seen it on the map before. Big Bend is a state park, yes? |

| Why did I write a message if I'm not going to post it ... I'll see if I can wake up and do better this time.
Lucy & Ashleigh, thanks for the welcome, seems like a good crowd of crazy Husky folks on here.
Renee (wait a minute, are there no other men on this forum??) I live about 15 miles north of Terlingua (home of the International Chili Cook-Off), at the gateway to the Big Bend National Park and a stones throw from the Big Bend Ranch State Park. To add to this wilderness adventure there's a very large National Park across the border in Mexico so we have almost no "Border Problem regrettably, if you get into our desert, unprepared, you die. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| HeyLucy, there's a set over in "Where's Al Live"
I'm going to be off and on for a while having problems with the batteries for my solar and writing from my tablet just isn't a lot of fun for me. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |
