yep, Ginger is sensitive too and can tolerate chicken and turkey up to a certain amount, so i have to keep fish is the majority for her protein in her kibble, but to give her options, i'm always looking for other small bites to keep her palate entertained. so when i got a sample of this from my favorite pet store near me, and saw the ingredients, i was very excited!

other flavors are chicken wrapped bananas, and chicken wrapped sweet potato.

another treat Ginger loves are the Nature's Balance L.I.T. (limited ingredient treats). it comes in 2 flavors: potato and duck and sweet potato and fish - and they are mini treats.

We have ones that are pretty much the same here in our stores. My dogs LOVE them Smile

They also come in Sweet potato and Venison too...so that makes 3 flavors. Wink And yes, I buy all three.

We feed dehydrated chicken treats, dehydrated duck treats, and also dehydrated sweet potato treats. I've seen the chicken wrapped in sweet potato but haven't tried it on my little pack. Faith is sensitive to dehydrated chicken in larger quantities for some reason, she can only have a small amount about the size of a quarter, any more and she gets soft stool. Faith does excellent on dehydrated duck treats though, they're a lot more expensive but they agree with her tummy so it's worth it.

Ginger doesn't do any 'red meats' otherwise, I'd be buying all 3 flavors also Smile

Sounds like Ginger how she can have fowl proteins up to a certain amount until she starts to go soft.

Yes, the treats that Ginger loves and agree with her tummy are expensive, but they are TOTALLY worth it!

Venison is considered red meat? Never knew that. Anyway, have you ever tried Venison with Ginger? Venison is one meat source that my dogs (ALL of them) do amazing on. I wish I could feed venison a lot more than I do but I've never heard of a dog not doing well on venison. Ziwipeak is amazing, highly recommend!

Yep, venison, bison/buffalo, beef, pork, lamb - all those proteins...I was 'advised' by my vet for her build (she's short and stocky) that she's a 'cool protein' (fish and fowl) dog more than 'hot protein' (red meat). She didn't say to completely stay away from it, but because Ginger has an appetite, to give her volume without giving her more bulk, fish and fowl are the proteins I should make as her main source.

So, I could give her any of those red meats if she tolerates them....and I have heard very good things about Ziwipeaks....and will probably eventually give it a try. The funny thing is, when we go to our favorite pet store where I get her food and treats from, they always have small snacks to give all the dogs that come in, and they try to give her beef jerky, but she will taste them and spit them out! I even tell them she doesn't like beef, and they'll say, 'Oh, there's no dog that doesn't like THIS beef jerky!'. And sure enough, she'll spit them out and their jaw drops in surprise! LOL!

That is too funny! Two of mine are somewhat similar. Faith is a food junkie and will eat anything and everything, but strangers giving her food at a store she will not eat at all. Dakota is the same, most of the time he won't eat food from strangers at stores even if it's something he loves to eat at home. Weird dogs!

Never thought of that it might be because it's a stranger! HA! Who would of thought our Sibes were smart enough 'not to take candy from strangers'!! Very Happy

Yeah, so Nikolai isn't so much a fan of that sample treat. He took it from me, sniffed it, then left it on the floor for the CAT to consume. Weirdo dog.
