| Sorry I haven't introduced myself as only just joined and am in a panic I have just gone outside to find my female crying and when I looked my male and female was tied . She's not in season she was in season from 10th of November til middle of December and as I'm waiting til both fully mature to get fixed personal preference I just need some advice ... my female goes to my mom's when in season with my daughter to avoid any accidents so how could this happen when she is clearly not in season .... For a week she has been nesting and hiding her toys but this is her second season and she did the same on her first season too and all today my male has perused her and she's nearly ripped his throat out on more than one occasion ..... she is now crying and trying to hide her toys and panting heavily which she has been doing for over a hour ... I did not pull them apart I comforted both of them and kept them together until they naturally separated .. plz any advice is welcome minus the desexed lecture as stated down to personal preference they are due to be fixed in about 5 months time |

| KellyAnn, maybe I can help you a bit here. You said that this is her second season (if she's in heat) and that you're waiting for them to mature before you have them neutered - so I'll presume they're somewhere around a year old, maybe a bit more?
Some of your words make me think that English may not be your first tongue, if I'm right then letting us know where you are can help (in your profile).
You might also want to consider the posibility of a false pregnancy (the second item on that page).
While I do agree with Elise about seeing a vet you need to really give us more information so that we can help you. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Yes English my first language I live in the west midlands and they are female was one October and male November .... I'm just confused how this has happened also I'm responsible as I say as soon as season starts she goes to my mom's with my daughter till completely over which was December just gone ... but she has like I said been going through a false pregnancy/motherhood for over a week and decided to nest in the corner with toys .... I'm taking no chances and she's in the vets today without question for the shot and also maybe scans to make sure all ok as she was scanned after first season as I was concerned about her behaviour and nesting then also ... I apologise if I didn't make sense on original post I was in such a panic I just couldn't believe what had happened |

| My girl goes through false pregnancies after every heat and they usually last a month or more. It has been my experience that dogs that have false pregnancies can and often do get worse as they age and they go through more heat cycles. Each false pregnancy Kenzi has been through has been worse than the last to the point where she cries, nests, pees profusely all over the nest, and guards. Dogs that are fixed will be stopped of this and your life will be a million times easier as well as hers. _________________ |

| Just came from vets and she definitely not in season so they bit shocked same as me as to how it managed to happen but after a scan turns out she has a infection which combined with the false pregnancy is probally why the male tried his luck and succeeded but either way she now on antibiotics and I've decided to not wait with my female til she's 2 to spay it will be happening as soon as her infection clears up as she has scared her so bad I will never want to put her through that again |

| << teasing >> being from the colonies where we don't have accents, I find some of you Brits astonishingly difficult to understand - I don't think I've ever spoken to a Kiwi, for example, for whom I didn't need a translator for "English" to English!
I'm glad you got her into the vets and have a handle on what's going on ... I don't know who it's more distressing for when they're not feeling well, us or our pets. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| LMBO, cute Al, all I thought of was my software [that is for granting access to written text to people with disabilities] that asks if I want English US or UK.
I am glad that you got her in to the vet. And I agree it is times like these that I truly do not know who is more stressed. Hope the antibiotics kick in fast.

| Decided to book my male in for Thursday to be desexed while I'm waiting for my female to finish antibiotics so she too can be desexed but she's calmed a bit ..... still quite aggressive towards my male which is completely out of character but hopefully will settle and can go back to being best friends |
