Anybody Use a Driveway Alert System? Empty
PostSubject: Anybody Use a Driveway Alert System?   Anybody Use a Driveway Alert System? EmptyThu Jul 02, 2015 11:29 am

In the past week, Ami has climbed into open cars on 3 separate occassions, once with Josh, once with the fence people and once with little boy's dad - 2 of whom he had never met before. I am now hightly concerned that anyone could come in the driveway, open a door and Ami would be gone.

So am looking into driveway alert systems - has anyone here used any of these? He's only loose when we are home so either and alarm or alarm and camera thing would work.

Are you looking for it to alert you that someone is there so that you can check on Ami?

I have never had one but my aunt who lived down a secluded dead end road did. I thought it was a bit obnoxious, but I could see the benefits in it.

Exactly what I'm looking for - if a car or someone comes in the driveway, I want to know so I can peek out the window - particularly at night when we are watchhing movies - Ami likes to lie on the lawn and watch the world go by. We don't always hear with the sound system on. Once had one of Josh's friends walk into the house into the kitchen because we did not even hear the doorbell - a bit of a shock. It was close to midnight, he could hear the movie and see the lights so knew we were up.

Amy, my father installed one at his house. He is happy with it. He installed it because one day someone came down his driveway, went in to his garage, and stole 2 very expensive new mountain bikes, all without him, his wife, or his dog knowing. So now, anyone coming past the front gates sets off a "doorbell" (how many doorbells can you listen to per day though Amy, LOLOL) type alert that is heard anywhere in the house and his back patio area. He has a lot of acreage so if he's out of hearing range , he's kinda out of luck but overall I think it serves it's purpose. One thing though, and I don't know if it maybe could have been installed better or what, but a large enough animal will also set it off (in ur case with the bull it may be a good thing!) and there was something else that would set it off too but I don't remember what it is, but even then, that's just the inconvenience of getting up to look out your window or whatever so I think you might like to have this.
