*LOL* I'll totally pick ya up from the airport and give ya a place to stay, too...

If this works out and Sully can happily, comfortably, enjoy his golden years, it will restore my faith in humankind.

YES!
Sully goes to a new home!!

Owner's email:

By surrender, do you mean still foster or totally give him up and the other party becomes responsible? If that is the case, THAT SOUNDS WONDERFUL!

Are they good people? Would they love him as you and JD have loved him? I am in tears right now if this is a possibility. The LAST THING I want to do is put him down but we just cannot do it anymore but I would want to make sure that the family that he goes to loves him and takes good care of him.

----
This person that is taking Sully in, she lost her Husky at the age of 13 a couple of years ago. So she has experience with the breed, and loves them! She also knows about his torn CCL (or in people terms, ACL) and will still love him and care for him and let him live out his retirement years in pure bliss!

Thank God! SO HAPPY!

Will Sully still be able to see Ginger from time to time? It seems as if he's got a little Husky crush on her Laughing

I sent over the surrender contract, and once she signs and sends it back to me, it'll be official and Sully goes to his new forever home. So it could happen as soon as tomorrow. Even if it takes a month, Sully has a place with us until it's all finalized.

I will be dropping off Sully this afternoon to his new forever owner so she can take him home and settle him in over the weekend.

I will post a few more pictures of Sully on his last days with us.

I've always believed that 'Things happen for a reason.' The last couple of weeks with Sully was making me wonder what was the reason for Sully coming into our life?...And now I think that reason was so he could find his forever home...

AND, his new owner is already looking at getting his knee fixed!

Ugh- please ask this new owner to join the forum! She deserves some love, praise and attention for what she has done! I still tear up thinking about how wonderfully this situation (which I think we all feared was headed for the worst) has ended up!

Yay Sully! Smile

Give Sully lots of extra hugs, kisses, and lovin' from all of us! I'm so happy how things turned out and I hope we'll be able to hear how he's doing every so often. Maybe Ginger and Sully will have some playdates in the future, who knows! I too believe everything happens for a reason, it was no mistake that Sully ended up staying with you. I hope you'll be able to keep in touch with his new owner if she decides not to join here. I know we'd all like to know how he does and what goes on with his leg. We'll miss you Sully!

We will see Sully in the future as he will be going to the Husky Huddles in the future if the meet-ups are planned on a Sunday or after 2pm on Saturdays as she works on Saturdays.

I have told her about the forum, and maybe she'll join.....But she is referenced under Holistic Vets in the Denver/Washington Park area.

My (holistic) vet is Sully's new owner....Dr. Deanna Miller. (BTW, before opening up her own practice, the clinic she was working at used to treat a lot of sled dog teams, and sometimes, half the team would come in with knee issues. BONUS!)

So Sully and Ginger will meet up someday...

It's really ironic how this all played out, because as she was opening up her practice less than a mile from my home, she sees Ginger and JD running past and she flags them down and tells hubby to stop by sometime because she'd love to get husky hugs from Ginger.

So I stop by with Ginger the week she opens, talk to her, and a couple of days later, I see her post the Colorado's Husky Huddle Facebook page and notices her name. And her post says, 'I've been missing my Husky, Sheena, who passed a couple of years ago at the age of 13. Stop by my office to say hello. I would love some Husky hugs.'

A month goes by and I show up with Sully...and 2 weeks later, Sully is part of her permanent pack and family.

So, I can always find out how Sully is doing...and we will be seeing Sully around for a few more years!

Oh WOW! And wait... can I be so bold as to say that you started going to your holistic vet because of your experiences here?? I love you This story just gets better and better!
