I need some good advice/suggestions on what's the best training treats for a Husky puppy? My puppy Tango is 11 weeks and has a very sensitive stomach. I've tried gummies and Best buddy bits. Both of those haven't been the best experience for little Tango. Gummies caused loose stool and BBC didn't digest and made him throw up. So please help! Smile hard to click train without a reward.

Some people take a portion of their puppies daily amount of kibble and use it as a treat, by taking a portion of their daily amount, the puppy isn't getting "too much" and reduces or eliminates any loose stool issues.

Tommy, what no one's mentioned is that our forum is notoriously slow over the weekend. I know that's no help but you're not being ignored it's just that a lot of folks are out and about.

I use liver bites. They are soft and I can break them in smaller pieces if I want. I think they are bill Jac brand or something and they have a lot of smell to them that holds mines attention well.

When I had my GSD he had the same issue (sensitive tummy). I would use playing with a toy quickly as a treat, boil liver/heart/etc and give him that (he'd get the juice once it cooled down in his dinner and loved that. He'd go nuts just smelling the boiling). Affection, if he did the thing correctly I'd immediately give him a good love up especially on his chest in the spot that made his foot kick and him drool. And his kibble. The liver and heart because it was human grade, I literally went to a butcher and got them they were from cattle, seemed to rest just fine and I could customize the pieces.

Toys I used where some that he could tug, I'd boop his nose and he'd latch on and we'd play quickly then back to training, especially if it had a squeaky, he loved squeakies. I did find dehydrated liver at a pet store and he loved that.

I hope that helps you, I know GSD aren't the same as huskies, but my GSD had such a princess stomach that I had to get really creative.

For a sensitive stomach, I would second Jimmy’s advice about taking a portion of her dog food each day and using those. Once your dog gets older and their digestive system is a little more mature, you could try experimenting with other things.

An alternative is to boil chicken, refrigerate it, then cut it down into small pieces (about the size of a pea). This will make excellent training treats for her that shouldn’t upset her stomach. Plus, since it’s chicken, it should be highly motivating for her!
