Dog Stroller Empty
PostSubject: Dog Stroller   Dog Stroller EmptySat Mar 05, 2016 12:54 am

So please don't think I'm crazy...

But I went to a Husky/Sammy meetup today. After the dogs had played for a while, a bunch of us started walking on the trail. One woman went to her car and pulled out this amazing dog stroller. I've never seen them for large dogs, only tiny ones that seem ridiculous.

She had her Husky is 13 and overestimates his endurance; he also has arthritis. He's always super excited to go on walks, particularly on this 3 mile trail we were heading to, but after about a mile, he gets too tired and sore to keep going. She said after having to carry him back to the car one day she stated shopping for a stroller.

I thought that was such an awesome idea for those with senior dogs or dogs recovering from an injury!

I was curious and went on Amazon, and there are hundreds of these at a bunch of different price points. I was so excited I ordered this one as a gift for my mom and dad. My parents have an elderly Golden who loves to go on walks with them, but her hips are too bad for her to go more than a block or so. She will love the heck out of this stroller.

And of course I'm planning on getting one for Anya when she's old (which I hope will be in about 30 years). I will get it in pink and add some sparkle Like a Star @ heaven lol! I figure after all the times she's pulled me around dog-scootering, I owe her in her old age to push her around.

Does anyone have one?

Too true, do you think Ami will have the strength to pull your poor old carcass around??

Actually, all teasing aside, it is a sweet sentiment for when they reach that age.

Har har har lol! Well - he sure does now!  Pulls me into the ditch...up the hill...faceplant into the snow...

Before we got him, when I could hardly walk with nerve problems, Wayne questioned whether I would be able to give him the exercise he needs.  I told him if I had to, I'd get a power chair or a cart and let him pull me.  Now - after seeing Megan's 3 wheeled rig...that is my style.  But expensive!
