Hey, guys! I have a 5 months old husky puppy - Harry. I bought him from a show kennel, but I think he won't reach standard size of a husky. He is very small (Well, fro my view at least and i have never had a husky before). His weight is a little over 17 kgs (34 pounds) and his height to the shoulder is a little less than 20 inches. What do you think, is he the right size for his age? He is a very picky eater and sometimes won't eat anything for an entire day! Just looks a little chubby, because he still has winter coat. What was the size of your huskies around this age? Thanks.

He is only a baby yet - at 5 months and 20" I would say he will definitely reach standard...maybe even exceed it. Son got Archer, a husky mix, at 4 months...Early on, he started out at 27#...Now, at just about 2, he is 65# and 23-24" tall. There's still a lot of growing to do to 1 year, even more, weight and a bit of height, from 1-2.

I'm with Amy and think you'll be fine size wise and he will get there. If you talk to the breeder you can also get a better idea at the growth rate for their lines. Some lines also just mature slower than other lines and that is totally normal. _________________

My addition to the great advice is to look at the threads the weigh in, there is one that is closed that is 40 pages long, and then the current one, you can read height and weight on all of our puppies as they age. It will put your mind at ease that you pup is normal. Here is the current link...the older one is in the same sub forum https://www.itsahuskything.com/t13214p200-weigh-in#240777

He's only 5 months old, he's got a lot of growing time and potential left. Be patient. You don't actually WANT a dog to reach maturity too early. Males, by standard should only max out at 23.5" at the withers and 45-60lbs.

He definitely has the stack figured out. Mine always sits down if I try to stack her. _________________

Huh, he figured it out after a lot of time though I used "stay" to teach him. I taught him to not move when I tell him to stack/sit/down and after that "stay"
