Hello! Can anyone recommend an insect repellent, not for fleas and ticks, that I can use on Suka? We have been taking our walks down some old abandoned railroads tracks on our property. Hubby keeps the path clear of brush and it is shaded so it is great for our evening walks but the last several nights poor Suka has been swarmed with biting flies, gnats and some weird bee/fly looking things. I use Deep Woods Off on myself but I would never put it on her....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You may find some useful suggestions on this thread Here. You aren't alone with the bugs. A few of us have been having the same battle. If you've tried any of these already, let us know how they did. We've been discussing the effectiveness of some. My bounce dryer sheets have been working for me but I am thinking an off brand isn't as effective.

You might try a pyrethrin based product (chewy.com has some labeled for flies etc) I use Vetguard Plus mostly for its tick efficacy but noticed that mosquitos and those little biting black flies hover around Ami but don't seem to land.

Thanks for the suggestions! The local Petsmart didn't have any pyrethin based products as you suggested so I will check out chewy.com tonight. Smile But I did find this and I'm hoping it will get us by until I can get something ordered:

The other Insect Shield products on Amazon got good reviews so I've got my fingers crossed!

This product has a pyrethrin (permethrin) in it and cautions not to use another permethrin product simultaneously. Hopefully, it will work.
