| So after moooonttthhss of deliberating. I finally decided I was ready for a puppy! I never expected to choose a Siberian husky. Sure I needed something athletic to fit my lifestyle so I considered dalmatians or a greyhound. And then border collies or aussies since I wanted to dabble in agility. I used to turn my nose up at huskies in the past. They shed way too much and it's just cruel to have them in Florida!(ignorant thoughts of past me)
Now my parents said it was too soon for me to get another dog. I had lost my dog that I had since 1st grade earlier this June. She was 15. Though one night my mom was reminiscing about her childhood dog "Sheba" who was a husky. That was the first seed planted in my mind. Then later that week my boyfriend mentioned how he always loved huskies. Second seed.
So finally I contacted a former coworker of mine and also contacted another friend. Collectively they have 4 huskies between them. Maybe 5. I got their opinions and realized that I disliked huskies for no reason. They were beautiful, smart, and challenging. Everything I love.
They also fit my active lifestyle more than a dalmatian. I am an avid racer and athlete. I run twice a day. If I only run once then I bike later that day. I realized how you could do fun activities like bikejoring(which I am already planning on modding my bike for it)
ANYWAY! I contacted an AMAZING breeder. Actually, I contacted 7 but only fell in love with one of them. She has a litter being born around Halloween and I couldn't be more excited! I'm going to be browsing these forums until I get my hands on my new puppy. |

| Welcome to the forum. Huskies having a bad rep is nothing new. My dad doesn't like the breed either. He thinks they are too much trouble and doesn't like that they won't naturally stay right with you when off leash. But having a husky fits me and as long as homework is done and a person is ready for the commitment then they are great. _________________ |

Of course! I'll probably post pictures weekly once they're born! |
