So this just happened...midnight. Freaked us out. Has never happened before, yeah he has had little twitching but never this odd breathing pattern he went on right now. I cought it on video at around halfway, it lasted for about 30 seconds then I went down with him and he stopped it. Is this the beginning of something serious??

Dave, if you consider that unusual you should listen tp Sasha during the night. I hear some glotil clicking (completely normal), some low pitched whine (ditto) and maybe some rough breathing but I'm not sure. The sound effects a pup can make when they're asleep can be amazing - there are times it wouldn't surprise me to hear one of them speak,

While Sasha is my noisemaker at night, Avalanche will sometimes "take off running" (lieing on his side). Personally I wouldn't be the least concerned with what you heard.

Sounds like Mia when she's having a dream. It freaked us out too the first time. Just wait till he howls in his sleep....

I will say out of all the animals we've had, huskies seem to be the most active dreamers. I wouldn't be worried, like Al said, unless he stops breathing or sounds like he's choking, which you'll definitely recognize.

Like Al and Dev have said, this is pretty normal for huskies. It's not a seizure or even a precursor to seizuring. I can say something interesting about that though...all my huskies have done what Mylo is doing in his sleep, and like Al's dogs, the running as well...with the exception of my huskies that had the seizure condition. Not one of them, that I ever saw, did the "dreaming" thing where they're running, breathing heavy or making the noises.

Sounds normal to me. Wolf tends to yip and growl sometimes in his sleep.

Ami makes all sorts of noises when he sleeps. The most annoying one is when he whimpers. Not because I mind the whimper but because Wayne wakes up, says Ami's having a bad dream, "you need to comfort him" sleep - What is this? Odd breathing during sleep. 1625187496

Leo did that if freaked me out. i thought something was wrong and my mom said that he was just dreaming lol. he dose that a lot specially after we go to the dog park and he plays with his friends or has a dream about gopher madness Laughing . its now become more normal for us to see him doing it with the very quite barking and other noises.

Thanks everyone for chiming in with yall's stories!
Such quirky pups we all have lol
I guess we should expect new sounds/sleeping things from him now now that he's 2yrs old ha
Up until now he only did the typical twitching. I cant wait to see if he does it again tonight.
This all lead me to research deeper about seizures, so know I am a little bit more knowledgeable about that.

@amymeme
Wow lol Wayne should get up and comfort Ami then, thats hilarious!
I immediately pictured that scene in the middle of the night haha

The audio would be a lot more informative than the video in this scenario Razz
