Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

hi guys! i registered wayy back in January and apparently forgot to post an introduction! i've been solely a lurker, so hopefully i'll be a bit more active after this post.

i'm Karlee, and my husky's name is Nikko! my family is from the Portland, Oregon area and we've had Nikko or a little over a year now. we suspect he's somewhere between 1 and 2 years old, but obviously we don't know for sure because he's a rescue. he loves sniffing, chewing, digging, getting the zoomies, and stealing socks. Razz

i'm also part of the Husky Huddle/Malamute Mingle facebook group, and i try to get my family to go to the monthly meets they host at different dog parks in the area every so often.

i look forward to getting to know some fellow husky fanatics! : D

aand here's a few fun pictures of Nikko:

thanks for reading guys! i hope to see you around wave

Hi Karlee! Hi Nikko!! Well, better late than never - okay, that's older than I am, shoot me!

Thanks for rescuing him, we need more people rescuing Huskies - way too many of them in shelters. He's a good looking boy from your pictures - but his coat colour changes, different cameras or does his coat *really* shift from a dark brown to an almost black?

And come back, we look forward to seeing more of you and him and the H2M2 group!

Hi Karlee and Niko!
Glad you are here.
Bodhi and I are in far NW Portland, out by Cornelius Pass.
We are going to the Husky Huddle next Saturday, depending on how wet it is is.

Nikko is actually our first dog ! he's a bit of a troublemaker but obviously that's normal for a husky. and his coat has stayed the same since we got him from what i know; the only place it really shifts color is only slightly on his back legs:

anyway, there are a couple small training questions i hope to pose in the future, so you can bet you'll be seeing more of me!  sunny
