| My 4mo husky/lab mix is definitely experiencing some teething. He's trying to munch on everything in sight! I've been giving him ice cubes, frozen toys, and chunks of cardboard. It's messy, but it's working for him.
Is there anything I should buy him? He's a strong chewer, so it has to be something that won't break easily, but can't hurt him. He's more of a chew-and-spitter than a swallower.
Also, should I be finding teeth? I read everywhere that they lose their baby teeth, but I haven't seen any around. Hope that's not a stupid question.
Additional tips/tricks/advice super welcome. Thanks! |

| As far as the teeth, my husky I found maybe 2 or 3 of her teeth, my gsd I found most. If you don't find the teeth chances are they swallowed them, it is ok if they do. Both my girls lived on cow ears while teething, they are chewy, healthy, and shouldn't cause upset tummies. You can also try bully sticks, split elk or moose antlers...Also look at these posts Ever hear of Terrabone, Best Teething Toys and 9 week pup won't stop eating grass, which are close in order to your thread. If you have more questions please ask. |

| Thank you!
Do most pet chains carry cow ears? How many should he have in a day/week/timeframe? He'd probably love them. |

| Most pet stores have them, also farm supply stores that carry dog stuff. They are pretty easy to come by. I personally wouldn't do more than one day. Some can be a tad greasy and too many could give your dog the runs. Moose antlers are fantastic and will last longer than the ears so I would probably rotate between the things Renee suggested. _________________ |

| I'm going to be honest I have purchased pig, lamb and cow ears...........here are the break downs of each lamb if natural are crunchy, healthy not greasy don't last long. Pig similar to lamb they are crunchy, both lamb and pig are smaller, don't last long, and every pig ear I have found are greasy. Cow ears are much larger, chewy not crunchy, some do have coatings and will cause upset tummies same with the lamb with coating and can be slightly greasy. However, if you purchase a natural, un flavored cow ear it will not be greasy, I did rotate, but the cow ears were the easiest to digest, and only if she stole the older ones cow ear did she get slight pudding poop from eating 2 in a day. So with a cow ear I did feed probably every other day with out issue, as long as they were a yellowish color those are natural here is a page from chewy so you can see the color as well as the assortment https://www.chewy.com/s?query=cow+ears&nav-submit-button= I did end up getting my cow ears and selected the 24 pack for $24.99 for the natural ones from here and they are offering free shipping over $19, so this is the best deal on cow ears I have found, cow ears tend to be more expensive than the other 2, think because they are so large. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?&pcatid=593 lastly since I am in the middle of nowhere most purchases for me is online and I order from chewys, dr foster smith, gave you links and here jeffers pets, all are legit places, and if you look you can get good deals and coupons from drs and from jeffers, chewys sometimes isn't the best deal since they never give coupons and free shipping is always st $49, drs and jeffers give coupons and different shipping deals http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?&pcatid=593 so take a look at these places and you can get some great deals on things for your pup. |
