Hello all - happy to have found this forum!  I've always been fascinated with the Husky breed, even as a child, and finally convinced the wife to get one last year.  Our beautiful girl, purebred Siberian Husky, Lucy, was born 3/1/16 so she is coming up on turning 1.  We got her from a local pet store (I know I know, never buy from pet store blah blah) here where we live and fell in love as soon as we saw her.  We did our research of course prior to buying, but I had no idea how MUCH energy these dogs really have - wow.  We have two other dogs at home which really helps I think with her overall adjustment and temperament.  She LOVES to wrestle/play with the other dogs.  Now that she's almost 1 I plan to start taking her jogging with me - temps have cooled down here in VA as well so Lucy loves that.  Anyway, here are a few pics of our Lucy and I'm excited to learn from everyone here.

Hi Doug, you've got a beautiful girl there. Yeh, pet stores tend to be outlets for some unhealthy dogs from BYB's - but I think most of realize that we buy where we can and as long as she's healthy, go for it!

Thanks! Yeah, so far so good, zero health issues. She has a very sweet and loving personality too, so I think we lucked out. Just need to keep her prey drive at bay!!!!

Pictures of your other two?? I have three here as well, but it's two Sibes and one Alaskan Husky.

Sure!  Here is "Mavis" our purebred female Papillon (3 y/o) and "Buddy" our male Border Collie Mix (6 y/o).  Buddy was a rescue dog we got at 9 months old, sweetest gentle giant I've ever met.  Also, that little doggie pool saved the Husky from the hot humid VA summer here. Sorry, not sure why photos are sideways.

Haha, ohhh yes there is alot of that too! She LOVED that little pool, it definitely got her through the summer.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. It's been fun reading about everyone's experiences on here.

Now that Lucy is almost 1 y/o I've started taking her on 2 miles run/jogs at night - it's about 30-40 degrees here in VA, so it's cold for me but good for her. bounce
