2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. I'm getting a new member to our family in a few weeks. Her name is Siggy, after the show Vikings. She's a siberian husky and the cutest pup on the planet in my eyes. lol She is very small in comparison to her brothers. All the females are small. They are healthy and playful and eat well. I've had a pup about 4 years ago and she was double her size at this age. Is this something normal? I've heard of dwarfism in dogs but don't know much. Maybe she will grow out of her smallness? Any info would be awesome. Very Happy

We have a thread where people have put in what their dog weighed at what age so other can compare.

Weight Chart

For the most part every line of husky grows at their own rate. Some grow slow, some grow fast, some do a lot of their growing early and some do their growing late. As long as they are healthy, alert, active, have good proportions and are growing I wouldn't worry too much about her size. A good quality breeder will be able to tell you how her lines usually grow, if they are slow or fast and if the sizes of this litter are within the normal range for her breeding pair.

I think dwarfism is extremely rare. My girl was small as a pup, same size as her brother but has a sister that was almost double Mishka's size. Mishka did stay small but in no way a dwarf. Females are smaller than the males anyways, I'm betting Ziggy will grow up just fine Smile Mishka is small in stature but in no way small in personality, haha, and she keeps fluffy boy Kohdi in check all the time, lol.

Thank you @Arctic_Wind and @Twisterll. She just threw me for a loop. The breeder was a little surprised to is why I was asking around. She is a doll though and I have no doubt her inner husky will shine Very Happy
