Puppy won’t poop outside Empty
PostSubject: Puppy won’t poop outside    Puppy won’t poop outside EmptyMon Sep 24, 2018 12:43 pm

Hi everyone! I’ve had my 8 week husky puppy for two days now and I know it’s impossible for him to learn how to go potty outside In two days, however he goes to one specific spot in the house to pee and poop so I’m glad he doesn’t do it everywhere, however we want him to learn to go pottoy outside. We’ve taken him outside with a leash on when he shows signs that he wants to potty or after he’s eaten and drank, we wait about 10-15 minutes after he’s eaten and when we do take him to the backyard he doesn’t potty he just lies on the ground and barley moves and it’s frustrating because when we take him back inside few moments later he pees. He’s already had an accident in his crate, we try to take him out to the backyard constantly but he just does not potty he just lies on the ground and tries to lick the ground. Please help!!!

Sounds like a pup that's been on potty pads before. When you go out I would interact with him. don't let him just lay there. Play ball or hide treats in the bushes to get him up and moving around so that he works it out. Also, don't take him back in right after he potties outside. You don't want him to associate pottying outside with the end of being outside. This can encourage a dog to hold their bladder as long as possible. They tend to need to go after eating, playing, and when they just wake up after a nap. He will get it in time.

What Jenn said. In addition, next time you clean up, take the pee cloth outside where you want him to pee and rub it over the spot to transfer some odor. Take some poop and put it on the ground where you want him to poop leave the for the time being. Then, pick up some nature's miracle and spray the area well to get rid the scent. Use the nature's miracle on every accident the house so he has no odor cues. Good luck.

Thanks everyone! I'm just a little hesitant to take him outside because he still hasn't gotten his boosters yet and thats in two weeks, right now he's just going potty in one specific area inside.
