2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Howdy Husky Lovers! Long time no see! Okami is doing great, He's a year and 2 months old now! How time flies hahaha. A new problem has risen although. I recently bought a new puppy, Okami has met him twice before bringing him home. His name Is Lykos! They do great most of the time(for example the cute picture i was able to capture when they were actually playing nice) but I'm worried because Okami is always on top of him! He doesn't' ever give Lykos room to breathe! And i can clearly see Lykos gets agitated because he barks, bears his teeth at him and gets really mad, but Okami persists. I try to separate them to give him some time but I just don't know what to do to teach Okami to play more gentle with the little guy. The only time he leaves him alone is when Lykos goes to drink water or when he's sleeping. HELP! hahaha. (Bonus problem, the little pup tries to hump Okami any chance he gets which confuses me with him being so young.)

Even at just over a year old, Okami is still just a puppy himself. In your text you say that Okami is always on top of Lykos - but your picture shows different ... or I have dogs badly confused.

A day will come when Lykos says "Okay, that's enough!" an you're going to stand back and say something like "Oh my god!!!!" and then, after sounding like they're gonna kill each other, they'll go their separate ways.

I think that since they're still puppies - albeit an older an younger puppy - that what you're seeing is just puppy play. The growling and baring teeth is just a younger puppy learning how to express himself.

The fact that you say that Okami will leave him alone to sleep tells me that he's not seriously concerned and there's nothing to seriously worry about. If either dog were ALWAYS in defensive (or offensive) mode then I'd be concerned - but one of them would have been hurt. If it's all play and no one gets hurt- except your nerves - don't worry about it.

When my son first got Archer at 4 months old, Ami was 18 months. Archer was ALWAYS on top of him. As if Archer a huge chew toy ????
