2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

A good deal of you know me already. My name is Valerie and I'm owned by an approximately 4 year old sibe named Dakota that we adopted from a shelter in WA almost 2 years ago. I'm also owned by a 4 year old Chihuahua named Faith whom we also adopted and she's been with us for 3 months now. I'm also owned by two female guinea pigs and a wonderful pair of mated percula clownfish.

Here's Dakota for those of you who don't know him.

And here's my little darling, Faith.

Ok, so I've introduced myself to everyone that already knows me. lol How's Ruger dealing with the weather in Jax? My mom lives in Green Cove Springs and she has several neighbors with two huskies each...she's wondering why everyone has huskies in pairs. lol

Haha he's doing good becuase he figured out the pool is his friend but, on these 100 degree days I still don't like him to stay out too long...

How about yours?

Mine doesn't have a pool and I take him out at 6 am every morning bore the sun comes out and before we even make it down to the end of the street it looks like he's about to have a heat stroke. He's not handling this heat very well at all. I take him out for 5 minutes at a time multiple times a day but even then he's panting up a storm in the time it takes him to take a dump. I hate FL. BUT on the bright side, we MIGHT be moving back to Washington state in a few months. Neither hubby, myself or Dakota can stand this FL heat!

Val- what does your hubby do? Or is it you that has the job holding you to Florida?

My husband is an electrical engineer with Boeing. I'm a stay at home dog, fish and guinea pig mom. LOL I love my job! Smile Come mid-September he will be able to transfer to another location. We just moved from the Everett, WA location last Sept (08) but it's looking like we might end up going back. I really miss WA and all the things to do there along with the great temps they have. Very Happy

Oh wow Smile Romeo is a civil engineer... yay engineers!

I was just wondering because I knew that you moved to FL recently, and with such a quick potential move back, I was confused. I didn't think he was a military hubby, but I wasn't sure Smile

I know how you feel. I wouldn't be able to take FL all year round either- and I hate where I live now... so I feel your pain!

Yeah we thought we could handle FL for a few years but no, it's not working for either of us! lol This heat is unbearable and even at 5 am or 11 pm it's still in the 90's...how anyone could want to live here is beyond me!
