Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

I debated about answering this since my memories of VietNam are very mixed ...

I was there during the 'conflict' so I have some memories if being rocketed and shot at - little things that can really mess up a fellows day.  On the other hand, when someone asks if I'd like to go back to places where I saw service, VietNam is at the top of my list!  I was stationed on the coast in Quang Tri Province and can't say that I ever saw a more beautiful part of the world.  Sunbathing on Christmas day on the beach of the South China Sea - oh, fantastic!!

So, with that nonsense out of the way, Welcome to the forum!!  That's quite a trio of 'huskies' you have there - he's on his back waiting for a belly rub, he's gotta be a husky, right?

I live on the American desert and my dogs do okay since the humidity is low, how do your guys handle the higher humidity that you have.

Today is a holiday in the US and most members are out and about over the weekend, so you may not see many responses till Tuesday ( our Tuesday! )

(( and send me a plane ticket and I'll come check it out myself! Smile ))

There is no way that I could take HCMC (and to me it's still Saigon) too many people in too small a place.

I'm a country boy at heart and any of the coast - away from civilization - would suit me just fine, thank you! I've seen pictures of the area around Chu Lai and it's still the picture perfect area that I remember - minus the military, of course. It's interesting that there are so many ex-pats (and ex-military) who have gone back there to roost. While I do have good memories of the people and the country, I also have some memories of rocket attacks that overshadow.

(( adding insult to injury, I never could get my tongue around Vietnamese! Words that begin with 'ng' just don't work!! Smile ))
