Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

PostSubject: Hello from up in Algoma   Hello from up in Algoma EmptyFri Jun 10, 2011 6:47 pm

Okies, so I'm in Wisconsin. We have one Siberian (Feisty Fox), one beagle and a goldfish. We're trying to arrange transport from Georgia to here for the second we're going to be trying to add to our family. We've had Fox for a bit over a year now...and he's presently pouting because he got neutered on Wednesday...

Things Fox likes: Running, outside, meeting new people, chewing, kiddie pool time, dog park fun, chicken, duck, lamb

Things Fox hates: Having his nails clipped, the albino squirrel that has taken to taunting him out the windows in the mornings...

Fetch is a no go...unless our Beagle is trying to play...and then he just wants the ball so that she can't have it...if our Beagle isn't interested in the ball...well he just looks at you like you're mentally deficient...

Mice...Fox has encountered one of these once...rather than the usual attack and have fun with reaction we see with squirrels...he runs away and hides....

That's bout it for now

Welcome Stephanie and I love the family photo! Love the intro. So you intend to add another to the family? Any more info that you are willing to share on that? Very Happy

That's too funny about the mice! Laughing My chihuahua, Glory, has a high prey drive toward insects, squirrels, and birds but oddly enough she is absolutely TERRIFIED of toads and frogs! So weird.

Sorry bout the delay in things...I've been coordinating vet care from out of state for the other we're looking to add to our family. She's in Georgia, and I'm in Wisconsin so it's taking some doing. She's presently a bit underweight...but I've sent some higher quality food for her and some things for grooming and tic removal...etc.

Her story is that she wandered onto someone's property a bit over a year ago...they're not really actually fans of the breed so she's not gotten much in the way of exercise or training for all that time. The person taking responsibility for this dog is...a fifteen year old kid. The vet thinks she's around four years old. I sent a crate and they brought her in the house during a tornado/storm thing and it seems she's already crate trained. She's been scanned for a microchip, has now gotten her first set of jabs, and is due for another in a couple of weeks. My husband and I had looked at adding a second during the summer...and we wanted an adult...not a puppy (yupp I'm done with puppies that don't belong to someone else)...and she's in need...
