| Awesome!!! You're going to use it with Willow, right? I hope she takes to it! Kody does it, but within 2minutes just stops and refuses to keep going. I have to take him off of the walky dog, let him sniff around for a few minutes, and then get back on and he'll go for another 5min or so. Mya is much better at it then he is. He constantly wants to be stopping to smell |

| Glad she's taking to it well! Are you running her in Miami summer temps though? I wouldn't do a bike jogger unless it was 60 F or below and even then I'd keep a close eye on how the sibe was doing. Don't mean to come down on you Melissa, just worried about Mya's health that's all! You know I love you girl! _________________ ~~Val~~

| That looks like fun, Melissa! I commend you for doing a lot of things right. Your seat position is low enough that you can get your feet down fast. You don't have toe clips and are wearing shoes with covered toes.
Think about getting a helmet and bike gloves. If you do this for any length of time, you are going to go down. When I biked with my last two sibes, I could never be sure they weren't going to go sideways after a cat or squirrel. I never was hurt, but I did crash more than a couple times.
Also I'd second what Val said about temps. For my guy, direct sun wipes him out, so we run early when it's hot... |

| Lol nice Melissa! I couldn't get my dogs to do that if I tried. They hate running with me as is. Laziest Huskies, ever! _________________ Cheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! Visit our Photostream on Flickr! |

| Cool! Steve tried to ride his bike with Siku. Worked ok, but a walky thing would have helped a lot! We've been getting up at like 5:30am to go jog with the girls and it's still too freaking hot out! We only go for about 20 to 30 minutes. Oh and +1 on a helmet! (From a girl who has metal plates in her head now cause she didn't wear her's once. ) |

| She loves it, but you guys are right about the heat. Even in the morning it's still VERY HOT! The park is 2 blocks down from my house and we only go around once. The entire thing lasts about 10min at the most. Plus, she lets me know when she's done |

Well, mostly because I'm paranoid and want to have a back up just case the harness or walky dog or something breaks..lol. It does help though when she tries to go to the side. I just pull on her collar a little and she gets back on track. The springs in the walky dog really do help with the pulling towards the side, but if she sees a DAMN SQUIRREL (LOL) I need the collar reinforcement also or she's taking me and the bike with her i'm sure! LOL! |

| For the past week and 1/2 hubby has jumped on his bike and come with us on our walky dog bike rides. I normally take Mya first and then take Kody. They both seem to enjoy the ride so much more with daddy riding next to them. It's so funny! Neither stop to sniff and keep up a nice pace. It's like a challenge to them to stay at the same pace as daddy (not to fast of course). Kody especially LOVES IT! He would always randomly stop cold turkey to sniff. With daddy there he just runs and runs and runs. He runs so fast that I have to try to break and tell him to slow down! So, I want to get hubby a walky dog as one of his Christmas gifts so that we can all go as a family at the same time. Breaks my heart when we leave Mya or Kody crying. The thing is that hubby has had a few surgeries on his leg. The last one being a full knee replacement (in Feb of 09). He took up bike riding since it's easy on the knees and he can't do any other sort of cardio. I think that he can bike with Mya (she's not as fast as Kody), but my concern is if/when she sees a cat, squirrel, etc and he has to stop immediately. I always break, and jump off the bike in a matter of 2 seconds. I don't think he can jump off the bike as quickly as me. He tried it the other day with Mya after we had rode for a while already and she did ok with him, but it was literally half a block and back. In your opinion do you think it's a good idea? It would be the first time that we can actually exercise the pups together so it would be nice, but I'm just scared that they'll take him down. I leave their regular leash on them to give them a tug if need be or if god forbid the they get loose, etc. Decisions, decisions! |

| The emergency situations could make it a real danger. I know it'll take away the surprise factor but ask your husbands opinion on this.
Or just make it sound like a possibility you are considering if he would have an interest in a walky dog. |

| Can you attach two dogs to the Walky dog like you can with a Springer bike attachment? That could eliminate any need to put your hubby at risk of injury while allowing both dogs to run together. How about adding a second Walky dog to your bike on the opposite side so you have one dog running to either side of your bike?
Len's got a point, it may be a good idea to get the hubby's thoughts on it before making any decisions or purchases. I'm such a worry wart that if it were my hubby in the same situation I would not want to take the risk. I'd rather be safe than sorry, even dogs with stellar records can have mishaps one day and sometimes all it takes is a single incident to have seriously undesirable (and costly if it requires serious medical attention) consequences. I've never had any qualms about leaving one or two dogs at home while I work with or exercise one or two of the others. In the end they all get their exercise and I feel better when I know everyone is safe. That's just me though, I'm a play it extremely safe kinda girl...no sense of adventure for me. _________________ ~~Val~~

| I like the idea of having a walky dog on each side of your bike if that would work. Does your hubby have any brace he can wear on his knee just incase he wants to try? It would be so nice for you all to go out together _________________ |
