Random question...
I've noticed both my Mom's husky and my pup like to munch on their butt's and legs to groom themselves.
When they do it on their legs it looks kind of like they're eating corn on the cob

Well Mikko has recently started doing this to both my fiance and I! He'll grab our arm or leg and start lightly chomping on it like it's corn on the cob...well usually it's lightly....lol I've also seen him do this to his other dog buddies, usually on the scruff of their necks...

Has anyone else's dog done this to them?

That's very interesting, mine grooms himself and bites lightly at himself but never does it to people or other dogs. I'm curious to know if others' dogs are like yours and your mom's.

How cute is that! LOL!! My 2 do it to themselves also, but never seen them do it to each other (or us). They do "clean" each others ears though.

Koda is obsessive about licking Jarod. OBSESSIVE. Jarod comes home, Koda mauls him with attention and then will lick his hand, arm, face, whatever is available, for seriously 45 minutes. And when we get him in bed with us, he does it then too. He doesn't do it to anyone but Jarod.. maybe it's because Jarod is in the Army and dirty and sweaty? Haha.

Koda licks obsessively too! He and Hailey DO groom us once in a while too. Koda did it to us a lot more before we got Hailey.

Luka is also obsessed with licking my boyfriend. I always tease him about how Luka wants to steal him from me.

Luka does do the nibbling thing to us and to Kitty. She use to do it all the time when she was a pup. She makes a silly noise when she does it too! I think she uses the nibble thing as a replacement behavior for biting. She does it when she gets really riled up. She use to be an awful biter when we first got her. She learned that biting meant play would end, but nibbling was ok (at least its ok with us). We figured if she had to do something with her mouth, at least nibbling didn't hurt us! Now that we have Kitty she likes to pin her down and nibble on her neck. Kitty always seems confused that Luka never bites her neck the way she bites on Lu.

Willow is an obssessive licker as well. I can't stand to be licked by dogs so I trained her from the beginning that I was off limits but everyone else is up for game.

Sarah, I like your description. Miko does this to herself but never to us. She is slightly obsessed with my boyfriends feet(gag, she will lick them till the skin comes off if he lets her) and she will try to lick my and chew on my hair after a workout(I don't let her do this). Its some gross attraction to the smell and taste of sweat.

Demon and Dakota will groom each other, ears, mouths, etc, but I don't think they've ever done it to either of us. ONe thing that Dakota does do is massage and scratch my back...lol. We have a trunk at the foot of the bed and if I sit on it while she's on the bed, she'll come right up to me and put her front feet on my back and either massage or scratch...if it's scratch it HURTS and she is told so in no uncertain terms....so she talks back. lol I just love the personalities.

Jack will lick our feet! but our 2 don't really groom each other.
