Here's some pics from hiking Lost Lake Trail today with Heather, Jarod and Koda...Heather and Jarod were troopers that they waded in cold, snow melt that went knee deep for a good 15 minutes or so....while I, on the other hand, went 5 feet, lost my footing because I couldn't feel my feet as they froze from the water, and I went down and ended up sitting in cold, snow melt water...so I had to bush whack to find the trail and hike out.

Fun times!

Love the pics! Looks like so much fun! Everyone's in short sleeves except Heather, what gives? lol

I agree with Jenn! Claudia, you need to hand the camera off to someone else every now and then so you can turn out in some of the pics!

And by the way guys, I'm already planning out our cross country trip for when we move back to WA. I think hubby is on board with stopping to do some hiking in the Rockies so I just need to tweak those plans so that hopefully we can plan something for near Denver so that I can meet up with you folks and maybe even do a hike together! Smile I know this is a few years out but it's never to early to start planning! Razz

If I give the camera to JD, I won't have ANY pictures, or they would be blurred (not sure how he does that!) or it would be of the trees or river or something, and no one in it! Razz

Val, I hope you do make a stop in Colorado! It would so nice to meet you all in person! I don't have a big back yard like Jenn, but I do have a yard for 3 huskies to romp around with 2 small Chi's and we have plenty of room if you want to stay a couple of nights...

Aww thanks Claudia, we'll see how things go in the next few years. Hubby would be on board for the 3 yr plan in Charleston IF the market gets better for reselling our house. If that's the case (and I really hope it is) then we could move in about 2 yrs. He's already working his connections back in WA so that if the right position comes available he'd be able to have an edge and take advantage of it. Only time will tell but it will almost certainly happen, it's just timing that is up in the air. Hopefully the next couple years will fly by in no time! They always do! Smile Seems like just yesterday we moved out of WA and that was 3 yrs ago.

LOL Some people just lack good camera skills. Hopefully Jared and/or Heather took pics? I know they have a good camera for it!

I meant to bring my cam, I swear next time I will and I'll include Claudia!!! Only thing I took pics of was the snow to send people at home with my iPhone because I was so amazed that I was walking on SNOW! I had the best time, JD and I love our CO parents Wink! It made my birthday awesome! I have an SLR and they a good P&S(the one you have) but I had to wake up at 5AM and get on the road by 6:15 to get there on time and my brain wasn't on yet! But I'm definitely remembering it for the HH/MM next week.. so excited for that!

Your 'CO parents' love you too Smile

I'm sorry that we made you get up so early...hiking in the summer is going to be tough for Storm - he overheats fast, so we have to start and be done before it's too hot. I do plan on getting him a swamp cooler vest of some sort before the next hike which would be in July.
