I live in a town home and my yard is decent, but is ALL cement. I have heard about people making a planter of real grass for their dogs. Has anyone here made one and has had success? Any horror stories? Any reasons why I shouldn't make one?

If I could, I want to make one big planter or 2 separate ones so he can do his business if he really chooses to and/or lounge in cooling grass instead of hot cement.

My biggest concern would be that the urine might kill off any grass you plant in the box unless you hose down the grass every time she pees in it. Will she per on mulch? Maybe you could do a large patch of grass and have part of it be mulch. Then you could train her to pee on the mulch but she could poop and lay in the grassy part.

Btw, my concern really mainly applies to a smaller area. It may not be such an issue if you do a huge planter. How big did you have in mind?
