| So there's this great paved multipurpose trail here in town that is about 10 miles long and runs out into the country. We took the dogs out there hiking on Sunday and they had a great time. It's also a great trail for biking, since it's generally flat and mostly sheltered. Well, I was out on my bike yesterday speeding along and enjoying the workout, when I came across this little guy: Um, yeah, that would be a baby Eastern Diamondback Rattlensake It was pissed as I zoomed inches from it at about 20 miles per hour (I was going so fast I though it was a stick until I was right on it). Needless to say, I'm going to be EXTREMELY careful *if* I decide to take the dogs out there again. _________________ |
