| So, I don't know if it's even worth calling this a hike, it's .5mile round trip. We thought we'd make a mad-dash up the trail to summit in time for sunset. BARELY made it. Afterwards we just hung out up top waiting for it to get dark. City lights can be pretty cool at night as long as you ignore the whole light-pollution/no stars problem.... Appa made about 10 new friends up at the top and on our way down made 3 enemies. I love his natural instincts of "good guy - bad buy." As with most easy access "outdoorsy" areas, you're bound to run in to some druggy-hoodlums looking for a place to hide. We ran into a group of three of them and Appa HATED them. He got his "don't you dare come close to me" bark on. Hackles up. I don't think anyone would dare come close to this guy, in the dark, with that happening. I love it. Everyone else he loved and wanted to get pet by. Smart dog, Appa, smart dog... Without further a-do. Photos. | Wow Riley, those are great pictures! We need to travel more so we can hike that kind of stuff. That's funny about Appa's bad guy sense, but great for you guys. Pretty sure anyone would think twice about messing with you with him around. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Great sunset pix, Riley.
Dogs really can pick up on vibes. It's uncanny. In a fit of bad judgment, I ran with my last husky to a hardware store that had ordered a part for me. We ran through a really bad part of town and crossed a corner with major drug dealing happening.Tasha started to growl; the dealers flattened against the walls and I heard murmurs of "wolf." I think she saved my bacon.
Where are you in relation to Sandy, UT ? That's where I stay when I come to Utah to ski. |
