| i know i could google it and get a ton of ideas but i want first hand suggestions on what was really cool. my co worker/ friend is having a bridal shower and i know i can get something off her registry but i also want to make something for her. Do any of you have any cool suggestions on what i could make her that will be useful for her and her soon to be hubby? my sister made me a "wedding cake" out of white towels of all sizes and used pins and fake flowers to decorate it. it was cool but i had a hell of a time sitting there taking all the pins and flowers off of it to use the towels and i don't want her to have to deal with that either. so im thinking of something like that that might not be such a pain in the ass. http://www.yourweddingcompany.com/index.php/action/showProject/projectId/26/categoryId/109/ for those of you who might want to do this please include pics. or links if you have them, her shower is Nov.19 so i don't have much time. thanks everyone! _________________ |

| My cousins created a spa cake for my shower...not much use for the hubby, but I'm going to enjoy each and every piece of it...I'll try to add a photo later today from home... |

| I made a guy friend a basket for his wedding. It was a cuddle basket. That nut registered for the Princesses Bride, so I got them that, popcorn, hot coco, mugs and embroidered a blanket. |

| well I'm not really crafty, but one of my favorite gifts at my bridal shower was a photo album that my aunt made for me. I don't have any pictures of mine as it is in storage with all of my other wedding stuff. My aunt made one similar for my mom and dad's 25th wedding anniversary so I snagged some pics of that to show you. Keep in mind that this was made about 15 years ago..... Mine is made with a satin fabric and satin ribbon with flowers in my wedding colors. In the center there was another photo pouch with a heart outline. If this is something you would be interested in, I could contact my aunt for some instructions. |

I'm not really sure how involved it is, but I'll find out. I think it's just more tedious stuff. I think once the fabric is cut, most of it is done with a hot glue gun. Glue guns and I don't mesh well so I never attempted to make one, lol. |

| I'm a scrapbooker, so I usually create scrapbook as gifts. I don't think that will help you if you dont' have the supplies though. |

| Here's the instructions if you decide you want to try it Karen!
Supplies -candle -tissue paper (color must match candle color) -wax paper -stamp of your choice -ink pad -scissors -heat tool. you can get this pretty cheap at Hobby Lobby if you use their 40% off coupon
Directions: Step 1: Lay tissue paper flat on table and stamp the images you want on the tissue paper using your choice of stamp and ink pad Step 2: Cut the tissue paper around the image as close as you can Step 3: Place the stamped tissue paper flat around the candle exactly where you want the image to be on the candle Step 4: Wrap wax paper over the tissue and candle and hold onto the wax firmly at the back of the candle for heating Step 5: Using the heat tool, start heating at one edge and working over the entire image with the heat tool. Make sure the wax paper stays flat or you will have wrinkles in your image. You only have to heat for a few seconds. You can tell when it is done when the wax appears to be melting. Step 6: Slowly peel back wax paper and your candle is done! You can add emblishments to it last. Go to scrapbooking section at a craft store and you will find all kinds of things you can attach.

| Thats so cool! I think I will be trying that at some point. Just one question though - 'heat tool'? I feel a little silly, but... what exactly is a 'heat tool'? |

| Don't feel silly! I hadn't heard of it once either! Do you have a craft store anywhere around you? We have a Hobby Lobby and Michaels store that carry everything on that list. You can also get one on Amazon.com. Here is a link to one... http://www.amazon.com/Uchida-Embossing-Heat-Tool-Stand/dp/B000QTFH58 |

| I'm thinking Hobby Lobby must be American, because I've never heard of it. We do have a Micheals, however. I'll go check it out there, I guess. Thanks for the link, knowing what I'm looking for will make it a lot easier.
Here I was thinking it was like... a iron. Or something. Glad I asked. lol |

| Heat Tools are often called Heat Guns in the "non scrapbook world." Any hardware store should have them. The difference between an industrial one and a scrapbook one is the heat. Scrapbook tools don't tend to get as hot. Industrial Heat Guns often have multiple setting "low / hi." |
