| When Isis came out of her crate from her nap this evening, she kept one of her eyes closed a lot. When looking at it, it isn't dilating like the other eye. She's rubbed it a few times, and when she's not doing anything else, it seems to be bothering her, but she is playing and running around like normal.
She doesn't seem to have vision issues from that eye so far.
She was playing outside a good bit today and digging, as well as running through some holly bushes.
We could take her to an ER vet tonight, but I don't want to pay the added cost if we could wait 12 hours to go to her normal vet.
Any advice? |

| How old is Isis? When Demon was just shy of a year old, he had juvenile cataracts erupt in his eyes. First one, then the other a few months later. He was sensitive to the light, kept his eye closed, and it looked irritated/swollen. I'm not saying that's what happened to Isis, but when it comes to the eyes both canine and human, I take no chances... |

| She's just over a year old.
Is there anything we should look for specifically? Did Demon act normal when it happened?
I care about Isis a great deal, but the vet ER is known to charge several thousand for what a normal vet would do for $100-200. |

| We ended up taking her to the vet ER. They said she must have hit her head at some point, and that, that can cause the non-dilating eye. She got an anti-inflammatory for 3 days. |

| Calypso has this now, too. I'm hoping and praying it is not juvenile cataracts. Her eyes were normal all day, and I just noticed it after the dogs came in...she might have played too rough. Call the vet in the am. |

| Siku's eye did that a while back. I think she just hit it running through some bushes. It only lasted about a day and she's been fine ever since. If it lasted longer and if she looked like she was in pain, I would have taken her to the vet. But thankfully neither happened. |
