PostSubject: He popped the question!   Sat Dec 10, 2011 1:15 am

So Brad text me this morning and said he was having a shitty day at work, and he was coming home early because I got off early. I got home and he was being awful sweet for some reason! I decided to take a nap and asked him if he wanted to lay down with me, and when we got in bed he pulled the ring out from under the pillow ! I was in shock at first and hid under the covers! Lol. We are probably going to plan for May or June 2013, but I'm so excited I already have a dj, lol. Is it too early to plan? My last wedding was thrown together in 3 months, I was young and stupid. I want to do this one right!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I'm going to go ahead and say it's never too soon to start planning. We have had a shorter engagement and things have definitely been rushed some.

Enjoy the engagement and planning, and before you know it the wedding will be here Very Happy

Congrats! That so sweet~

I don't think you can really plan too soon for a wedding. Not that I've had to ever plan one, but it just seems like one of those things. lol.

bounce Congrats!!! You have the perfect amount of time! We were engaged for like 3 years, but actually started planning a year and 1/2 in advance. The time flew by!!!!

I'm so happy for you! It's so much fun to plan a wedding! Fun, but stressful. I'm going to lie. Once it gets closer it gets a little crazy.

How exciting though! It's a great time in your life. Enjoy it! I love you

Congratulations!!! My fiance and I got engaged over a year ago but we wont get married until Summer 2013 either, since we want to wait until I am done with school. I haven't really planned much yet, except he said he wants to have it at the botanical gardens in Fayetteville and I browsed wedding invitations and we thought about who we might invite....but we haven't done anything for sure yet, just given it some thought. I probably wont begin to plan for another 6 months yet.

Congratulations Jill! That is such wonderful news and just in time for the holidays so you can show off that ring and share the news with all your family and friends' gatherings! Very Happy Reminds me of my hubby, he proposed just a few days before Christmas 2006...we tied the knot in July 2007. I love you Congratulations to you both and it's never too early to start planning!

Congratulations! My husband proposed on NYE (2009 into 2010) and we just got married in September, so we also had about 1 1/2 years of planning too. It doesn't hurt to start looking around, but some places may not take reservations until you're inside a year. Very Happy

Congrats Jill!! What great news Smile

Congrats! Post any questions you have about wedding planning! Just went through it in the past year! Smile

The best advice I can give is talk to other brides about what they really remember about the wedding and what was worth it - then decide what are the top 3 important things to you and your fiance. For us, it was good food, that the wedding represented who we are and making sure our guests had a good time. It's so easy to get caught up in the "industry"! Smile

I boycotted bridal magazines and sites - unless they were "alternative" or budget bridal blogs and sites like 2000 dollar bride, etc. I'm pretty handy and an avid bargain shopper, so that made sense to me. You definitely couldn't tell with the end result, though! Smile Let me now if you want links!
