| Hey guys, I busted out the cookie cutters tonight, made some sugar cookies (which are far from looking like something from Martha Stewart, but whatever. I had fun) I really need a better sugar cookie recipe that holds its shape. So many failures. What cookies have you guys pulled together for the holidays? |

| Well Beth's favorite place in the house is the kitchen and it shows, especially at holiday times. Today is their last day of work until the New Year, she took in enough grub today to feed a navy Came to bed after midnight and was up at 4:15AM to make her homemade spring rolls. Definitively where the 2 of us differ she loves cooking for people. I'd rather cook for dogs. |

| Holy cow Len! You still have my address form card exchange? Karen, You're cookies look wonderful! I'm lazy when it comes to decorating, I don't go all out but I do make tons of Christmas cookies every year. My oven is broke so I talked my sister into letting me make some early Christmas eve at her house. You just can't have Christmas without Christmas cookies! I have a sugar cookie recipe that holds its' shape. They are sour cream sugar cookies and have a really, really good flavor. Plus I do homemade icing with it. I would be happy to share the recipe....after I get off of work tonight. |

| Our baking has been down this yr, mostly cause I'm trying to be good! We made cocolate chip and some white chip, crainberry, nut ones. To night I'm making fudge, blackbottom cupcakes and a treat to take to work and lindsays. We will see if the oatmeal and peanutbutter kisses get done or not. Sure I could bake sat but I would rather snowshoe! I forgot len, send me some of what ever is left, and the spring rolls! Karen yours look great, I did sugar cookies awhile ago and mine just flattened out! Have not tried again, I have a betty crocker holiday cookie book I used for them

Len, I'm taking a trip to NY so I can hang out with Beth! Or maybe I need to find a commercial kitchen for me and Beth to hang out in for the day! I can't remember if she's Filipino? If she is, did she make lumpia (Filipino version of spring rolls) ?
I have a couple of friends over for Shabu-Shabu last night (Japanese version of fondue, but the cooking liquid is a broth instead of oil). I had extra pears so for dessert, I made caramelized pears with a rum-raisin and craisin marscapone, drizzled with caramel....I LOVE COOKING!

| Len, we have the same cooling racks~! lol. Beth does much fancier work then I do. Goodness, look at that stuff~!
I've got the sugar cookies and the chocolate chip cookies done.
Still have classic peanut butter, peanut butter with fudge, peppermint meningues and crackled chocolate balls. At least. I also found a recipe for a mint chocolate chip bar I would like to try.
Good thing I have families who will eat all this junk, I certainly will not.

Of course I'm bias yes she is Flipino, mom's side Chinese on her dad's, and one of the best cooks around. I think she spares me from having to remember the word lumpia so we call them spring rolls. Don't forget to get a BIG enough kitchen when you get your mt. home then we could easily be convinced to visit CO.
I use to watch Hell's Kitchen and jokingly told her she should try out for the program. She decline the idea since she would burst into tears at Gorden's first insult.
We have guest on Sunday and she'll be cooking Thai. Come on out we'll set a plate for ya.
Still baffles me how Filipinos love to photograph their food. This summer on the cruise she probably took hundreds of photos and 2/3's of them were from meals. |

| Those look tasty. We never have nuts in the house to play around with when it comes to baking, and I always forget to pick some up. |

i used whole wheat pastry flour, stevia sugar sub., spelnda brown sugar, and smart balanced butter, mine did not go flat like in the picture.
i need to find a balance of making them healthier but still turn out like they should. i don't think its doable but i liked how these turned out, the chocolate chip did not work out so well. _________________ |
