Had fun at my sisters. She was very diligent about washing her hands before touching anything so I hope we all escaped without getting strep. Time will tell. I beat everyone at cards last night so I ended 2011 on a high note. I was planning on getting home early and going to bed before midnight but one of my young friends goaded me about it, so needless to say I stayed up till 1am to prove I am not old! Laughing The pups let me sleep till 10 am and I am in the process of cleaning the house. I love a clean house! Then I am going to replenish my handmade greeting cards today and tomorrow for 2012! 2011 was not a good year for me so I am aiming for a much better year!

Meredith - what's apples to apples? I've never heard of it- then again I'm not a big drinker! Lol but I've never heard my friends talk about it.

You don't have to drink to enjoy Apples to Apples. It's actually a family card game, where the premise is matching cards in your hand to a topic card that is drawn by a player. You're *supposed* to find the best match, but when you're in a group of smart ass adults the best match isn't always the most literal one. One of my personal favorites for the match cards is "The Chernobyl Accident". If I land that card, I try to play it off of topic cards such as "Brilliant" or "Shiny". Stuff like that. I was playing with neighbors back in Oklahoma, the topic card was "Death" and my neighbor played "Anne Frank". Yes, it was kind of wrong, but amazingly funny. It's a great party game, and you can find it at any store like Wal Mart or Target.

We LOVE Apples to Apples and play it with the kids. They have no idea who Humphrey Bogart is or similar cards, but it doesn't matter... just play the old movie stars on something like "Death" and it could be a win. I'm still the crazy family member who voted "My Family" as the win in the category of "LOUD" over "Power Tools" and "Fur" (really?? loud fur??)! But they were ALL yelling at me and definitely being louder than a power tool!!

Happy New Year to all!!!

Happy New Year! We had a quiet night in with some wine but we stayed up til midnight.

I never heard of Apples to Apples, it sounds like fun.

I used to really like House but then I got tired of it too. I didn't watch the last season.

2012 is starting out a little bumpy but 2011 went out with a bang! This is definitely in the top 3 of worst hangovers ever! I went out to get breakfast burritos this morning and realized as I pulled away that I was still a little intoxicated. Now I am trying to get dressed for our new years day dinner. It's slow going. Eddy wants to go to the brewery before dinner.... I will be having water.

I had one of the worst hangovers ever yesterday! We went out clubbing on Friday night and I thought I wasn't going to make it yesterday. Basically sleep all day with "about" to puke moments throughout. Add a pounding headache to that and it wasn't a fun day!!!! Thankfully by 6pm I was ok and had some beer to ring in the new year!!
