Just talked to the lady I got Jasmine from today. As I have said in a couple posts I am hoping to get another Husky in the next couple months. She said she had a few miniature huskies. Anyone know anything about them. I don't think I'm actually interested, just kinda curious. What else are the mixed with? Is it even an official breed?

Alaskan Klee Kai? I believe they are a recognized breed and they look like huskies, just a size smaller...

I've heard of them. But i think these are actually considered "Miniature Siberian Huskies".

The only "recognized" breed in the dog world are considered Alaskan Klee Kais, and even those aren't actually AKC recognized, although they are working on obtaining it. Anything else that you see are scam artists and BYBs. Steer clear of them!! We have a thread on AKKs if you are interested in them: Alaskan Klee Kais_________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand.

So, I read what they had to say about the mini-huskies on their website. Basically, they are just bred for smaller size... but why? Also, they are never specific on what size range that would be from what I could find. Most of the pictures on the site are of puppies and not adults. It just seems shady to me.

Their website doesn't say much about the stud and bitch. In fact, their website doesn't say much at all....

Anyone who describes their planned breedings simply by the coat/eye colors of the stud and bitch is a BYB in my eyes! _________________ Cheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! Visit our Photostream on Flickr!

Minihuskies are not a recognized breed. That just sounds like someone making a new designer dog to make more money. Alaskan Klee Kais look like mini huskies and are recognized by UKC, but not by AKC. Regardless of all that, the breeder does not offer any information about their adult's health. You want to look for a breeder who gets the parent's hips x-rayed and checked by OFA at the age of 2 or older and their eye's checked by CERF yearly.

| It's all been said. Steer Clear.
If anything it's runts breeding with runts - a major problem in the "teacup" dog world I've read about. |
