After reading all the answers to my previous post about what the best dry dog food would be for dry skin it seemed unanimous that Taste of the Wild was the food of choice. I went to all the pet stores around me and haven't found it. I have just enough of Aries's food now to mix in with new food to get her used to it, so I don't have time to wait for shipping if I were to order TOTW online. So, at the petstore today I looked over all the natural dog food and decided on Avoderm by Breeder's Choice. I only got a 4.4lb bag to test it first. It's the adult lamb and rice (she was previously eating Solid Gold Hund N Flocken lamb and rice). Does anyone have any experience with this dog food? Thanks!

dont know that food but what pet stores were you checking? the box stores will not carry TOTW, you have to go to the mom and pop stores, since your still with a food that has rice in it i would not say its as good as TOTW, i don't know that brand so i can't tell you if its ok or not. i say order the TOTW online and then just mix what you can when it shows up and if you dont have much the worst that will happen is an upset tummy for a day or to and the runs till Akira is used to the new food. _________________

Do you have a tractor supply company near you? They have TOTW.

I would feed Solid Gold over Avoderm. Better quality food. _________________ Cheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! Visit our Photostream on Flickr!

I didn't see it at the TSC I was at the other day. It's kind of a small TSC, though. The larger one is a bit of a drive and I don't know if I'll be out there anytime soon.

You can usually get it cheaper online too. On Amazon, I saw the High Prairie flavor for 44.99 with free shipping the other day - no tax either. That's a couple of bucks cheaper than TSC. Plus the drive to our TSC is over an hour, so having it delivered is a big plus

You can also order on wag.com - orders over $49 are free shipping and no tax. As well, if you have a costco anywhere near you, Nature's Domain Salmon is made by the makers of TOTW and similar to Pacific Stream. Our dogs love it.
