| Just got Dakota a week ago today. We picked him up when he was 6 weeks five days old. He was really young but has done great with my girlfriend and I since the first day we got him.
He's been house trained naturally since we got him and weighed about 10 pounds when he 6 weeks of age! I'm a student here in Norman and go to OU so I definitely have my hands full right now. I take 13 hours but worked my schedule out so that I'm only gone for onne class a day for about an hour, so it is perfect. When I graduate in May we'll move back to Texas.
I got a TON of information from this website for about six months as my girlfriend and I did our research LONG before we got a Husky so that we knew exactly what we were getting in to. I've never owned a Husky but am already loving this dog. Can't wait to watch him grow and mature (as much as Huskies do haha).

Well, the breeder was recommended that we take him when he was between 6 and 7 weeks old so that we could start raising him exactly how we wanted. I mentioned that I didn't want to take him from his mother too early, but she let me know that it was okay because she would make sure that he was anxiety free from his mother before we picked him up. He had two sisters so he had plenty of company and wasn't lonely before we went to get him. He hasn't been missing his sisters OR mother since the first night so I'm extremely proud of him and impressed with the breeder we got him from. |
